Members -felipe-
Kidman and Fiennes to Star in Reader Source: Variety August 18, 2007 Nicole Kidman and Ralph Fiennes will star in The Reader for The Weinstein Company. Stephen Daldry is directing a script by David Hare. The film is a love story based on the bestselling novel by German writer Bernhard Schlink. The setting is contemporary Germany, where a man recounts the story of his erotic awakening in a covert love affair with an older woman in the wake of WWII.Mirage Productions partners Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack are producing with Scott Rudin. Shooting begins in Berlin late September.Kidman, Daldry, Hare and Rudin last collaborated on The Hours, for which the actress won an Oscar. She has worked with Minghella on Cold Mountain and Pollack on The Interpreter. Fiennes starred for Minghella in The English Patient.

Members -felipe-
Concentration Camp Closed for Nicole Kidman's "Reader" The makers of love story "The Reader," which stars Nicole Kidman, have been denied permission to lense scenes at Sachsenhausen concentration camp, north of Berlin. The Weinstein Co pic, which also stars Ralph Fiennes, is being directed by Stephen Daldry. In the film, which is set in contemporary Germany, a man recounts the story of his erotic awakening in a covert love affair with an older woman in the wake of WWII. Lensing begins this week on the pic. Horst Seferens, a spokesman for the curators at Sachsenhausen, said that the filmmakers had written to inquire if they could use the memorial for a key scene, but the request was turned down. Only documentary filmmakers are allowed to use the site, which is now a memorial to the millions of Jews killed in the Holocaust, he said. Adding: "Former concentration camp sites are cemeteries — it's just not appropriate to use them as film sets." http://www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=5985&count=

Members texer
Nicole bulks up on the Bridget Jones diet She is renowned as one of the most svelte actresses in Hollywood, but all of a sudden Nicole Kidman is piling on the pounds. And like Renee Zellweger before her, it's all for her art. Just as Renee had to bulk up to play Bridget Jones, so Nicole has already put on 10lb for her latest film, The Reader. And the 40-year-old Australian actress is planning to double her weight gain in the coming weeks, according to sources on the movie, in which she stars alongside Ralph Fiennes. "Nicole has said this is one of the most challenging film roles of her career," a close friend said. "She is naturally very slim and loves to run and swim so she is always very toned. "The part she plays demands that she gets fatter throughout the movie as her character slips into middle age. "It's a very demanding role because there are a lot of explicit lovemaking scenes. "The film is set over several decades so her character changes a lot. "Nicole was originally planning to use prosthetics but was told by the director, Stephen Daldry, that it would be more realistic if she gained the weight." The star plays Hanna Schmitz in the adaptation of the bestselling German novel The Reader, which deals with the emotional repercussions of the Holocaust-in post-war Germany. It tells the story of Michael Berg, a 15-yearold boy who has a passionate affair with older woman Hanna in 1958. But Hanna disappears suddenly and Michael sees her again only years later when she is on trial for a war crime after it is revealed she was an SS camp guard. Nicole's calorie-rich diet includes drinking daily protein shakes and ensuring carbohydrates are in every meal. "She has been eating about four meals a day," said the friend. It's not usual to see her work her way through a big plate of pasta, with bread, and then a dessert. She's having to gorge herself. She has quite enjoyed gaining the first 10lb and has been having lots of her favourite puddings as well as chocolate. The Jones diet: Renee Zellwegger as Bridget "Nicole loves her new bosom, but she is finding eating so much makes her lethargic and sleepy. "She's usually running on adrenaline and has to be reminded to eat a meal. Now she's eating four, and sometimes five small meals a day." The recent weight gain led to speculation that the actress was expecting her first baby. The Oscar-winner was snapped this month in a tightfitting white dress in New York sporting what looked like a baby bulge and a bigger cleavage. "Nicole usually has a flat stomach so when she was pictured looking more curvy, everyone thought she was pregnant," said the source. "In fact, she has been putting on weight and has had to buy bigger clothes." The actress follows in the steps of Zellweger, who piled on 30lb to play Bridget Jones in two movies by eating a diet of pizza, peanut-butter sandwiches and fast food and drinking Guinness. She ballooned from a dress size six to 14 before dieting back to her normal weight. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...in_page_id=1773

Members texer
THE READER: “I am a little nervous" "There are roles, for which I have to open up myself entirely, and others, where I have to create a vacuum, to be able to change into some one else. I am always little anxious about the latter one. But I hope, that I master it" "It's a new view of the Second World War" “I was in Berlin once already, at the Berlin Film Festival (also called Berlinale), but I had plenty of time, to explore the city. It is teeming with Hollywood stars there right now. My friend Naomi Watts will be there at the same time with her baby; she is shooting with Tom Tykwer (“The perfume”) the film “The International”. I already applied to be a babysitter.” Alguns atores começaram a rodar cenas.
At the moment, I'm working with Stephen Daldry on an adaptation of The Reader starring Nicole Kidman and Jude Law. If you look at all these great British directors – Stephen Frears, Ken Loach and Daldry – they all had tremendous TV experience. It's a situation that I wish was repeated around the world." http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/film-cinema/harvey-weinstein-the-fat-controller-1211403.html Jude Law em The Reader?Procede?
