Actress Jessica Alba has reportedly threatened Playboy lothario Hugh Hefner with legal action, insisting the March issue of his magazine suggests she poses "nude or semi-nude." The Fantastic Four

beauty shot off a legal warning to the magazine mogul after realizing

her image had been placed on the cover of the soft-porn publication,

without her knowledge or consent. The letter demands Playboy

immediately stops distributing the offending issue, and Alba insists a

"monetary settlement" is appropriate. Alba's lawyer Brian Wolf claims

the actress had previously turned down a substantial payment to be a

Playboy cover girl and accuses the publication of tricking Colombia

Pictures into allowing them a promotional shot from forthcoming film Into The Blue.

Colombia Pictures have also written to Hefner, slamming the

"outrageous, unethical behavior utilized by Playboy personnel to

obtain" the racy shot.

is to make her festival debut this spring when she performs at

California's renowned Coachella festival. The singer will headline the

Dance Tent on the event's second night and is already relishing the

thought. She says, "I've never performed at a festival. I'm especially

excited about playing Coachella before I start my own tour." Festival

promoter Paul Tollett adds the big name signing came by chance. He

explains, "We've got Daft Punk

headlining the Dance Tent the first night and we were looking for

something else that good. It just came up and we're super excited.

She's so dance oriented right now." Madonna has previously performed at

day events, including last summer's charity supergig Live 8, but her

April 30 Californian appearance will be the pop queen's first weekend

Kidman "Questioned by FBI Over Wiretapping"

 

 

 

Nicole Kidman was reportedly questioned by the FBI over private detective Anthony Pellicano's alleged, illegal wiretapping. A recording of the Cold Mountain actress talking to her ex-husband Tom Cruise

was found in Pellicano's office in 2002, reports gossip site

PageSix.com. The recording was made shortly after the golden couple

announced they were splitting in February 2001. During their divorce,

Cruise hired Los Angeles matrimonial lawyer Dennis Wasser

- who had often used Pellicano's services - while Kidman was

represented by New York lawyer Bill Beslow, who consulted private

detective Richie Di Sabatino. Sabatino admits he was stunned to hear

Kidman had allegedly been taped, saying, "We swept her phones and put

on an encryption device, so she couldn't be wire-tapped. We tried to

keep one step ahead. (The tapes the FBI heard) was probably from Tom's

phone. Pellicano used to tap his own clients. They (Cruise and Kidman)

settled quietly and relatively fast, and nothing came out except for

one story in the National Enquirer, which was Pellicano's tabloid of

choice." Pellicano, 61, pleaded not guilty last month to charges of

racketeering, interception of electronic communications and other

offences in a Los Angeles court. Besides Kidman and Cruise, Pellicano

Farrell's Ex To Receive Millions If Sex Tape Is Released

 

 

 

 

Actor Colin Farrell's ex-girlfriend, former Playboy Playmate Nicole Narain, will receive a $3 million advance payment if the sex tape the couple made together is released. The Phone Booth

star is suing Narain and trying to stop the release of the sex tape

they made three years ago during a brief romance. According to

documents posted on website TheSmokingGun.com, Narain signed a deal

with Internet Commerce Group (ICG) in October 2005, for a seven-figure

payout to distribute the 14-minute video. The agreement guarantees

Narain $100,000 whether or not the explicit video can be marketed, and

also calls for her legal fees to be paid up to $60,000. Farrell is

seeking general and compensatory damages, as well as an injunction

prohibiting the promotion and sale of the tape. US Superior Court Judge

Elihu Berle quashed Narain's request to have the case dismissed Monday

and advised her lawyers to file a response to Farrell's suit instead.

George Clooney has received an apology from US socialite/political commentator Arianna Huffington

after she posted his comments on her website without properly

attributing them. The Oscar-winning actor objected last week when the

Huffington Post put up what appeared to be an original blog from

Clooney, when it was actually a compilation of remarks he'd made in

newspaper and TV interviews. Clooney originally agreed to let

Huffington use his thoughts on America's Democratic Party on her

website, but not in the context in which they appeared. Huffington, in

a blog of her own posted over the weekend, apologized and admitted it

was a "big mistake" not to identify where the material had come from.

The website has established a new policy for dealing with such material

in the future. Huffington said, "Any time the HuffPost uses re-purposed

material we will identify it as such and source where it originally

because her breasts "became too big" following an injury lay-off. She

says, "I was thin, I was a size zero, but my breasts had gotten bigger.

area." Legal papers filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on Monday list

numerous charges including wrongful termination, breach of contract,

defamation, sexual harassment and intentional infliction of emotional

obviously, people are small-breasted. On Broadway, what happened should

Oscar-winning musical Chicago

is at the center of a new lawsuit - a producer is suing Hollywood

studio Miramax claiming they owe him $10 million in unpaid takings. The

Producer Circle Company alleges Miramax breached their contract,

insisting they own the film rights to the show, but have not yet been

awarded their share of the box office takings of the 2003 hit film.

Legal papers name the Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones-starring

musical as "the highest grossing and most profitable movie ever

released by Miramax" and claim they are owed a percentage of the gross

profits from DVD sales, cinema tickets and foreign distribution. A

spokeswoman for the Producer Circle Company says, "While Producer

Circle Company is unable to determine with precision the amounts that

it is owed, it estimates that Miramax's breach of contract has cost it

Após três semanas de pré-estréias com ingressos esgotados, a primeira sessão oficial da peça foi cercada do clima de "glamour" de uma "première" de Hollywood.

Centenas de admiradores se concentravam nas portas do teatro Bernard B. Jacobs de Nova York na expectativa de ver alguns dos convidados, como a apresentadora de TV Oprah Winfrey ou os atores James Gandolfini ("Família Soprano"), Susan Sarandon e Marcia Gay Harden.

Embora seus colegas de profissão estivessem presentes para apoiar a estrela, os críticos teatrais foram bastante duros quanto à sua atuação.

"Three days of rain", que apresenta a estréia nos palcos nova-iorquinos da atriz mais cotada de Hollywood, ganhadora do Oscar em 2001 por "Erin Brockovich - Uma Mulher de Talento", ficará em cartaz até 18 de junho no teatro Bernard B. Jacobs.

A peça, que foi produzida no circuito off Broadway no Clube de Teatro de Manhattan, em 1997, trata, em dois atos, dos temas de conflito de gerações e da natureza da família.

No primeiro ato, Roberts interpreta uma filha que, juntamente com seu irmão, tenta descobrir a verdade por trás da morte do pai. No segundo ato, que se passa 30 anos antes, Roberts interpreta a mãe da filha.

Paul Rudd e Bradley Cooper completam o elenco, enquanto Joe Mantello, responsável, entre outras peças de sucesso, por "Wicked" e "Glengarry Glen Ross", dirige a versão.

Em uma das poucas críticas positivas, o USA Today considerou que a atriz esteve à altura de seus companheiros de elenco, Rudd e Cooper, mais experientes no teatro.

"Afinal, Roberts torna as duas mulheres críveis, convincentes e divertidas", destacou o único dos jornais de alcance nacional.

Para o jornal britânico Financial Times, quem esperava ver a atriz em apuros saiu decepcionado.

No entanto, "ao mesmo tempo, seu belíssimo rosto, feito para o close, não parece capaz de projetar o tipo de dramaticidade necessária para dotar um personagem de vida em um grande palco", acrescentou o diário econômico.

Roberts, de 38 anos, foi escolhida para a peça no ano passado. Os produtores esperavam que sua habilidade para fazer dos filmes em que atua campões de bilheteria atraísse um grande público, uma manobra que se justificou, devido ao esgotamento antecipado dos ingressos para os próximos três meses bem antes da estréia, nesta quarta-feira.

is based on her, and she insists "encounters" she had with the star a

decade ago match those between the two characters on the show. In court

she had "encounters" with Sheen between 1992 and 1998. In the odd suit

Sharon Stone

has secured a settlement with a British tabloid, winning substantial

undisclosed damages and a formal apology over an article claiming she

left her son in a car while she enjoyed a late night restaurant date.

The actress filed the suit against the Daily Mail, after they claimed

to have snapped the boy asleep in the back seat of her car, while she

snuggled up to a "mystery male companion" in plush eating house The

Ivy. A month later the paper published a second article under the

headline: "Sharon's dinner date and this time her baby goes too."

Stone's lawyer Rupert Grey claimed the paper falsely insinuated the Basic Instinct

star was a bad mother on both occasions, and that her son had been

traumatized by the hounding photographers. He added, "The article

conveyed the clear allegation that Sharon Stone had neglected her son

in a shameful and selfish way." Stone has promised to donate the court

payout to charity.

Rodriguez Chose Jail Because of Hatred of Forced "Service"

 

 

 

Lost star Michelle Rodriguez

chose a prison sentence over community service because she hates the

idea of compulsory work. The actress, who plays Ana Lucia on the hit

show, chose jail instead of 240 hours community service after being

convicted of drink-driving in Hawaii last month. She spent 65 hours

behind bars. But Rodriguez is adamant that doing time was far

preferable to forced labor, despite admitting she has no qualms about

doing good deeds. She says, "If I'm gonna do something for the

community, I need to do that on my own accord. I don't like being told

to do things for the community. I'd rather be in jail for a few days

than be told what to do for a month."

Avi Arad anunciou esta semana que está deixando seus cargos na Marvel Entertainment Inc. – CEO do Marvel Studios, diretor de criação e diretor da Marvel Entertainment – para lançar sua própria empresa, a Avi Arad Productions. O produtor, contudo, continuará envolvido no desenvolvimento dos filmes com personagens Marvel, como Homem-Aranha 3, Hulk 2 e Homem de Ferro.

Arad é um dos principais responsáveis pela onda de filmes de sucesso da Marvel, iniciada com o primeiro X-Men (2000), e conhecido por seu forte envolvimento em cada produção. É creditada a ele a estratégia que ajudou a tirar a Marvel do negativo – com a quase falência em meados dos anos 90 – e gerar grandes lucros a partir do licenciamento dos personagens para produções cinematográficas.
