News Mike Cecchini Simon Brew Mar 17, 2017 Well, after year and years of rumours about a possible The Matrix 4, this week things started to suddenly fall into place. News landed a day or two back (see below) that Warner Bros was investigating a possible reboot of The Matrix movies, with Zak Penn linked with putting a screenplay together. Furthermore, Michael B Jordan’s name was thrown into the mix as a possible star. See related Looking back at the Matrix sequels Looking back at The Matrix There’s been no confirmation or otherwise from Warner Bros, as you might expect. Instead though, the rumour mill is gathering steam. For Deadline reckons that not only is Warner Bros looing to develop a new The Matrix movie, it’s also looking towards a possible Matrix cinematic universe. Furthermore, the studio is apparently also looking to adopt the writers’ room system that’s allowed Paramount to come up with a bunch of potential Transformers films in one batch. Warner Bros. May Be Looking Into More Matrix Movies Again, Warner Bros remains mum, and there’s little sign that the Wachowski sisters or Keanu Reeves are involved in any way at this stage. But it does seem as though a fresh take on The Matrix is edging closer. More as we hear it… Here's our report from earlier this week... Is this a glitch, or is Warner Bros. really developing a reboot of The Matrix? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is interested in reviving the franchise, with Zak Penn (Avengers, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men: First Class) currently "in talks to write a treatment." So, a couple of things about this before we all start stoking the fires. "In talks to write a treatment" is about as vague as it gets when it comes to a potential project's life cycle, and I'm willing to bet that the term "reboot" might not even apply here. For all we know, this is The Matrix 4, as the trilogy was left with just barely open ended enough to continue if you squint a little bit. Just last month, Keanu Reeves made some noises about it, leaving the door open to a potential new movie were the Wachowskis involved. But right now, they're not. As a consequence, it's difficult to imagine any potential new installment in the franchise feeling right without them (although that doesn't necessarily mean that it won't happen). No star has been approached, although Warner Bros would apparently like Michael B. Jordan to take the lead this time around. Joel Silver, who produced the first three films, is said to be interested in making more Matrix movies, but he isn't currently attached. To add fuel to the fire about this not really being a "reboot" but rather some kind of revisiting or continuation of the franchise, that same report indicates that within the last few months a Matrix TV series was floated and shot down, and that Warner Bros thinks they can take a "Star Wars" approach to the franchise, by branching off and telling untold stories within the world. In short, whatever this is, it's probably still a ways off. But on the other hand, Warner Bros is looking for franchise opportunities beyond their DC superhero properties, so it's probably inevitable that we get a Matrix cinematic universe. The internet met this story in exactly the way you would expect it to; horribly. The news was frustrating for fans of the series, all because of a simple word; “reboot.” Since the release of the first Matrix film back in 1999, the series has gone on to become one of the most iconic – and successful – science-fiction franchises. Despite what was previously reported, the new movie will not be a reboot or a remake. According to the film’s writer, the film has no interest in remaking the iconic original. Penn – who worked on The Avengers – revealed on his official Twitter account: “All I can say at this point is no one could or should REBOOT the Matrix. People who know Animatrix and the comics understand. Can’t comment yet except to say that the words “reboot” and “remake” were from an article. Let’s stop responding to inaccurate news. If I were going to recast Keanu Reeves, I would cast Keanu Reeves. How about just re-release the matrix? Don’t reboot it, you can’t do better. Do I want to see more stories set in the universe of the matrix? Yes. Because it’s a brilliant idea that generates great stories.” Like many, I found it quite strange that Warner Bros. were interested in rebooting The Matrix now. Keanu Reeves has had a pretty incredible career resurgence, and remaking one of his most iconic roles would seem rather pointless. From the sound of this, I think we should expect a movie inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens or Creed. Penn and Warners have no interested in remaking one of the best blockbusters of all time, but they can create a new story in that universe for a contemporary audience. Penn also Tweeted a comparison between his idea and what 20th Century Fox are doing with the X-Men franchise: So, in case you needed any further confirmation; this film is not a reboot. Ele foi anteriormente anunciado como roteirista responsável, mas outra notícia diz que a Warner vai montar um time de escritores e ele estaria cotado. "Tudo o que posso dizer nesse ponto é que ninguém pode ou deve fazer um reboot de Matrix. Pessoas que conhecem Animatrix e os quadrinhos entendem". "Não posso falar nada ainda, exceto que as palavras reboot e remake saíram de um artigo. Vamos parar de responder notícias imprecisas". Novo Matrix pode ser sobre Morpheus jovem Desde que um novo filme na saga Matrix foi anunciado, muito foi discutido a respeito do interesse do filme. Se seria ou não seria um remake ou talvez uma continuação.Mas parece que o filme pode ir na onda contrária e se tratar de um prequel, filme que antecede os outros da saga.Segundo o BMD, duas fontes seguras na Warner garantem que o filme se passará antes de todos os outros e terá o ator Michael B. Jordan interpretando o jovem Morpheus.Sendo Morpheus um personagem tão complexo e sábio, ainda há muito a ser explorado a respeito de sua história e toda sua trajetória até chegar ao momento em que vemos no primeiro filme. Mas a polícia da Flórida só divulgou o vídeo da prisão na última terça-feira (2). E no nele, Montana aparece urinando em uma rodovia dos Estados Unidos.Segundo os policiais, a filha do astro da trilogia Matrix tinha em seu sangue o dobro da quantidade máxima de álcool permitido para uma pessoa que estivesse dirigindo. Ela ainda estava com uma garrafa de vinho no carro.Montana foi liberada no dia seguinte da prisão após pagar uma fiança no valor de 2,5 mil dólares. POR MIKE SANT'ANNA → Há pouco tempo atrás, nós ficamos sabendo de um rumor que apontava que Matrix receberia um reboot pelas mãos do roteirista Zak Penn, responsável pelos roteiros de X-Men 2, Esquadrão Suicida 2, Ready Player One, entre outros filmes. O roteirista esclareceu em seu Twitter, no entanto, que as coisas podem estar sendo mal interpretadas. Na rede social, Penn disse que “Sim, eu estou escrevendo alguma coisa.
