Normalmente, eu faço textos enormes sobre os filmes mais aguardados no ano. Mas o que dizer desse filme? É tão leve, tão leve, tão leve, que beira o superficial. Um Feel-good sem qualquer tipo de pensação, tímido até mesmo em ser comecial, embora cinéfilos reconheçam paralelos com "Lost in Translation", e por que não dizer com a relação de admiração da diretora com o próprio pai. Mas mesmo essas pequenas conexões não fazem do filme grande cinema. Quanto ao filme de 2003, temos novamente uma cena de passeio noturno em um carro preto de onde de aprecia a metrópole; uma cena de elevador; não conversas de elite em ambientes chiques... Mas sem a profundidade disfarçada. Naquele filme, poucos atentam para isso, temos uma protagonista filósofa (fotógrafa como o esposo, mas uma fotógrafa de mentes,) que fica admirada (na linguagem filosófica, o "páthos") de as pessoas ficarem imersas jogando video-game...Aqui a escritora é uma ...desculpe... uma parva...improdutiva, que não consegue ter uma epifania com o mundo, com a vida, não demonstra em nenhum momento um "sentimento do mundo"... Bill Murray faz o papel de Bill Murray. Nada demais. Charmosinho, levemente ácido, levemente engraçado, levemente esnobe, um representante do antigo mundo masculino fadado a ser apagado pelo neofeminismo. Sem cinema físico como podem fazer grandes estratégias, fazer grandes lançamentos? É ligado o 'modo sobrevivente on', e só mandar descarte, os que não vão ter grandes prejuízo mesmo, só pra ter algo ali. Streaming estão mais a vontade já que o 'modus operandi' deles não depende dos cinemas físicos e sem cinema, eles acabam ganhando mais, então é só correr pro abraço. Temos que esperar o pós-pandemia (se e quando ocorrer) pra ter ideia como o mercado de forma geral vai se comportar depois disso tudo. Posted October 30, 2020 Author Members Report Share Posted October 30, 2020 A exemplo do recente "Abominável", "A caminho da Lua", dirigido por Glen Keane, é uma animação Netflix para mostrar o soft power da China (O Futebol americano ou o Beisebol será substituído no mundo do cinema pelo Tênis de Mesa). É cultura chinesa "prêt-à-porter", aos moldes ocidentais. O roteiro é simplório, cheio de caminhos já traçados, com animais fofos como muleta cômica, e final moralista redentor... A animação em si é bonita, mas nada empolgante, colada demais no mundo visual da Disney ou da Pixar. No entanto, penso que será indicado ao Oscar da categoria, e talvez consiga beliscar uma indicação, completamente imerecida, de Melhor Canção. "Bacurau" lembrado em Melhor Filme Internacional, categoria ao qual não podemos mais indicá-lo. Aliás, dos indicados na categoria, só o excelente Cuties/"Lindinhas", pra desespero dos bolsonaristas, pode concorrer pela França, que ainda não indicou seu representante. "Nomadland" parece ser o favorito da temporada. Chadwick foi a única indicação a "Ma Rainey`s Black Bottom". Por que não Viola? Estranhei. Posted November 15, 2020 Author Members Report Share Posted November 15, 2020 "The Life Ahead"/ "Rosa e Momo" é um drama bonitinho, bem-feitinho, corretinho, com o chamariz de ser a volta à atuação da grande Sophia Loren, no filme dirigido pelo seu filho, Edoardo Ponti. Uma sobrevivente do Holocausto, ex-prostituta, por vias tortas, acaba hospendando um garoto órfão de origem senegalesa. É a adaptação de um livro, que antes já ganhou as telas com Simone Signoret no papel; sendo que o filme ganhou o Oscar, pela França, de Melhor Filme Estrangeiro em 1978. Como escrevi acima, não tem muitos erros, mas tem pouca artisticidade, pouca personalidade. Às vezes a direção emprega usos de telenovela, às vezes usos de outros filmes. Não tem uma cara própria. Sophia Loren está apenas bem. Nada de mais. Uma indicação ao Oscar é puro exagero nostálgico. Inclusive por diversas vezes ela some da tela, some da história. Dizem que é muito bom, mas eu não sei, não vi. Em tese, ele está habilitado a disputar Filme Internacional e Melhor Documentário, assim como aconteceu com "Honeyland" neste ano. É uma escolha ousada. Vai que... Barbara Paz, terceira mulher a disputar a indicação. Creio que "Casa de Antiguidades", "Sertânia" , "Cidade Pássaro", eram talvez experimentais demais para o padrão médio de aceitabilidade. Em uma única edição, o streaming deve ter mais números de indicações na categoria de Melhor Filme que qualquer outro estúdio já teve em todo o histórico do prêmio (via Variety). De acordo com especialistas, a Netflix possui um arsenal gigantesco de longas com chances no Oscar, entre eles Mank de David Fincher, Os 7 de Chicago de Aaron Sorkin, A Voz Suprema do Blues de George C. Wolfe, Destacamento Blood de Spike Lee, O Céu da Meia-Noite de George Clooney, A Festa de Formatura de Ryan Murphy e Pieces of a Woman de Kornél Mundruczó. A última vez que um estúdio conseguiu emplacar tantos filmes na principal categoria da maior premiação do cinema foi em 1937 quando o Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer recebeu cinco indicações. Nos últimos dois anos, a Netflix concorreu na categoria de Melhor Filme três vezes, com Roma de Alfonso Cuarón em 2019 e O Irlandês de Martin Scorsese e História de um Casamento de Noah Baumbach em 2020. É claro que essa vantagem da Netflix não deixa de ter uma relação bem direta com a pandemia de COVID-19. Afinal, a plataforma de streaming viu um grande crescimento em 2020, não só por causa do aumento do consumo de conteúdos em casa mas também porque vários filmes tiveram seus lançamentos cancelados nas salas de cinema.
