National Geographic Cinema Ventures have confirmed the details and we've got the first photos.Filmed during the band's Vertigo Tour dates in South America last year, the movie is directed by Catherine Owens and Mark Pellington and will be released in both digital 3-D (REAL D and Dolby) and IMAX theaters from late January 2008."When the reviews came in after our screening at Cannes, we were thrilled," said Owens. "We wanted to use this technology to make viewers feel like they were actually at the concert and sometimes even onstage. The feedback from fans, critics and the industry was phenomenal."Owens, a friend of the band since they were teenagers in Dublin, directs visual content when U2 are on tour and directed the 2005 video for Original of the Species. Pellington also goes way back with the band - at the helm for a version of 'One' back in 1992 (featuring artist David Wojnarowicz's buffalo imagery) and helping create to the unique visual vibe of ZOO TV. Avoiding the typical (and now antiquated) shooting and editing style of the band's previous pieces and (intentionally?) omitting any backstage interviews, the filmmakers have brought you to a live show in Latin America--to the center of frenzied chaos in the faster songs, grace in the slower ones and then those inexplicable moments where you promise yourself you won't tear up but do--the three best elements of a live U2 show, if you ask me. At one point, I put my hand in the air thinking I was there, because the filmmakers have cleverly positioned the cinema audience behind the live concert audience in the film--you'll even find yourself wanting to tell a guy to put his hand down in front of you, and you'll have to stop yourself. Avoiding any tacky Jaws 3-D style sight gags where any one object is pointing straight at you, the filmmakers instead just grab you, and bring you along for a visually rich and sonically groundbreaking ride--and all you'll pay is a cost of movie ticket. Os caras ainda tinham gás, uma criatividade que extrapolava tudo. Claro que encontramos ótimas músicas no ATYCLB e no HTDAAB, mas não acrescentam muita coisa ao legado que eles transmitiram até o início dos anos 90... Creio que bandas similares, como Coldplay e Keane (essa nem tanto), já não fazem discos que marcam. O Radiohead é outra banda que adora discos riscados...não mudam o lado do disco e partem para outra...de repente, poderia arriscar a fazer um tipo de som mais New Age. Existe muito preconceito contra esse estilo, mas, claro, é fruto da ignorância, como muitos possuem.... Apesar do Pop/ Rock não ser o meu estilo preferido, curiosamente o U2 é uma das minhas bandas preferidas (está entre as 20, ou talvez entre as 15). Fisher disse que a gigantesca estrutura usada como palco panorâmico das apresentações será reutilizada após a jornada do quarteto irlandês. Novo disco do Weezer será lançado em 27 de outubro Com novo álbum à vista, Little Joy retorna a São Paulo Aerosmith cancela turnê após queda do vocalista durante show "O que eu tenho discutido com a banda é como nós transformaremos [as estruturas] em pavilhões", disse. "Parte da turnê irá terminar na Austrália e outra parte irá se encerrar na América do Sul, onde as pessoas podem fazer um uso interessante do pavilhão em um parque", disse à BBC News. A turnê "360º", cuja primeira parte acaba em Vancouver, Canadá, em 28 de outubro, divulga o álbum "No Line On The Horizon". Claro que é quase impossível fazerem um show em Porto Alegre, mas pelo menos não poderiam fazer no chiqueirinho, pq não há jeito disto caber lá dentro....é um palco de show de verdade e não de show de bar tipo o do Oasis. (O mundo irá me matar, menos os fãs loucos do Noel e tals ) Mas falando sobre o palco, às vezes acho que ele não caberia nem no Maracanã. Troço gigantesco mesmo, absurdamente grande.
