Members texer
Members Administrator
Members MacGruber
‘Up in the Air’ sings in the Colorado mountains I wouldn’t dare review Jason Reitman’s “Up in the Air” via iPhone from an in-transit gondola, but I’m compelled to write something immediately. The film is a triumph. It drips with Reitman’s passion, his love for his wife and child, his assessment of his own journey into adulthood. He just finished telling the audience at the Chuck Jones Theater that it’s probably the most personal film he’ll ever make. One can certainly understand the sentiment. I’ll get into this more later, but I consider it a four-star knockout that couldn’t have hit the country and, to speak personally, me, at a more perfect time. http://incontention.com/?p=13144 Jonny Greenwood2009-09-05 22:29:

Members Administrator
Outras reações (entusiásticas) a UP IN THE AIR: Anne Thompson (twitter): Up in the air is a winner. Hits the zeitgeist on the nose. Funny, witty, real, sad. Awards season in the offing. Clooney tops. Allex Billington (firtshowing): Up in the Air was fantastic, @jasonreitman knocks it out of the park, I loved it. t's definitely not a conventional story, but it's great. Few minor third act probs, but it's wonderful to enjoy something a bit different. Peter Sciretta (Twitter): Up in the Air lived up to the expectations

Members MacGruber
Up in the Air, the Informant! Variety’s Reviews Author: Sasha Stone Meanwhile, Todd McCarthy has put up his review of Up in the Air. He also writes up The Informant! Up in the Air: The tale of an aloof, high-flying exec whose millions of frequent-flyer miles can’t keep him permanently above the emotional turbulence he seeks to avoid, “Up in the Air” is a slickly engaging piece of lightweight existentialism highlighted by winning turns from George Clooney and Vera Farmiga. Just as “Thank You for Smoking” and “Juno” did in their own ways, Jason Reitman’s third film cleverly taps into specific cultural aspects of the contemporary zeitgeist, although in a somewhat less comically convulsive manner. Unlike many of the characters onscreen, nobody is going to lose any jobs on the basis of their work here, as a buoyant commercial flight lies ahead The Informant! — It’s mostly a Matt Damon showcase: Packed out with 30 extra pounds, a moustache, artfully done hairpiece and dorky glasses, Damon plays Mark Whitacre, a gung-ho VP at a Decatur, Ill.-based agribusiness firm, Archer Daniels Midland, where “corn goes in one end and profit comes out the other.” A career biochemist entirely behind the promotion of such food additives as lysine, Mark unleashes a staggering corporate and legal tsunami when he tells his boss he’s detected a mole in the ranks that’s allowing a Japanese competitor to mess with their lysine manufacturing. And: Damon is in very sharp form in his fifth film with Soderbergh. The thesp makes Mark brazen in his conviction that he’s always right and unremorseful about his fabrications, but never in a superior, hubristic manner; as is slowly revealed, he’s always been able to rationalize any alteration of reality that served his purposes, and even when faced with his own deviousness, he never doubts that, “I’m the good guy in all this.”
Members Blood Drink
