Conforme eu comentei no tópico dos filmes mais esperados de 2013, subiu na minha lista de prioridades e agora está em terceiro, atrás apenas de O Homem de Aço e Django Livre. And according to Cinema Blend, J.J. Abrams has taken that message seriously, as the director of the rebooted franchise has granted one fan his dying wish: To see highly anticipated sequel "Star Trek Into Darkness." Faith rewarded. As pretty much any "Star Trek" fan can tell you, "Star Trek Into Darkness" is the hotly anticipated sequel to Abrams' 2009 "Star Trek" relaunch; originally scheduled to hit theaters last summer, "Star Trek Into Darkness" had to be pushed back to this May 17 due to production delays. For most fans, of course, the delay has been just a minor irritant. But for one fan named Dan, it was something more, as Dan has been diagnosed with a non-treatable form of cancer. On Christmas Day, his friends and family took to the internet, posting his story on Reddit, with one plea: Help get Dan an advance screening of "Star Trek Into Darkness." And for director J.J. Abrams, that was one request he couldn't deny. "It was truly amazing that a filmmaker so secretive as J.J. Abrams was kind enough to show this to us," Dan's wife posted a few days ago. "It is also so wonderful for his friends & his family to finally hear some good news from us, they know how important film is to Daniel & could not think of a better way to please him. So this gesture really has brought a lot of smiles all around. "It was a wonderful thing to see with Daniel and a wonderful thing to see Daniel enjoy - Making someone as ill as he is smile for any length of time really makes a difference. (At this point making me smile is good too)," she continued. "This is also so poignant as JJ Abrams took so much care in the first 'Star Trek' movie to at least TRY to get everything 'right' for the fans and we were so touched when he was concerned that we wouldn't 100% enjoy the screening as it's still being worked on....... Abrams.Com a ajuda de amigos e da Internet, o apelo de Craft chegou ao estúdios Bad Robot, onde, sensibilizados, Abrams e o roteirista Damon Lindelof fizeram uma cópia da atual versão da montagem do filme e a enviaram ao fã. A cópia em DVD foi levada por um dos produtores e a família teve que assinar documentos de confidencialidade. EW has confirmed that Paramount has finalized a deal with IMAX to release the Trek preboot-sequel onto IMAX screens on May 15. Translation: If you want to be the first kid on your block to find out if Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Khan, you’ll have to pay the low, low price of 37 dollars for an IMAX 3D ticket, not including popcorn. Like Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight movies and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Into Darkness features a few scenes filmed using actual IMAX cameras. Presumably, IMAX cameras were used to film The Scene Where The Spaceship Crashes Into The Earth. You don’t want to see that in a boring old non-IMAX screen, do ya pal? In a recent interview with Total Film, we learn why: He doesn’t get it. Apparently, J.J. Abrams offered Wahlberg the role of Captain Kirk’s dad (a part that eventually went to Chris Hemsworth) in his first Star Trek movie, but Wahlberg turned it down. His reasoning: "I tried to read the script, but I couldn't understand the words or dialogue or anything, and I said, I couldn't do this." He eventually did see the movie and thought Abrams did a great job. It was probably for the best; otherwise, the viewer would’ve spent the entire film wondering how there were still Boston accents in the future. Say hi to your Vulcan for me. O diretor norte-americano nem lançou Star Trek – Além da Escuridão e foi anunciado como nome no comando das câmeras em Star Wars: Episódio VII. A revista Empire aproveitou a nova fase de Abrams e divulgou uma entrevista exclusiva com o cineasta favorito dos geeks. Quando perguntado sobre qual possivelmente será a história de Star Wars, Abrams respondeu: “Eu não sei, nós estamos começando agora. Apesar de nunca ter sido um fã de Star Trek, eu sentia que existia uma versão que me deixava animado, que me faria pensar ‘isso é legal, parece certo, eu iria querer ver isso’. Porém, com Star Wars, eu sinto que posso me identificar como uma pessoa que tem grandes expectativas sobre o filme e é um projeto que estou extremamente feliz em participar. Os filmes, os mundos não podem ser diferentes, mas o sentimento é de que existe alguma coisa maravilhosa aqui para compartilhar”. Abrams wants us to have about Star Trek Into Darkness, there's only so much of the film they can show off in the marketing materials. Posters so far have promised a destroyed London and a lurking Benedict Cumberbatch, with the most interesting twist showing off the Starship Enterprise falling from the sky. Now this latest poster lets an actual human being take the focus-- but no, we're not learning anything else about the plot.It is interesting, though, that the film's first character poster goes to Uhura, the only major female character who's also a key crew member of the Enterprise (though this time she's joined by Alice Eve's Carol Marcus for at least some significant amount of time). Taking over the role of Uhura from the incomparable Nichelle Nichols, Zoe Saldana has made the character tougher and more interesting than ever, even though in Star Trek she spent most of the time using her considerable brains on the bridge. This time, as this poster and plenty of images have proven, Uhura gets in on more of the action. How much of it? Come on, you didn't think Abrams was going to give it away that easily. Coming to theaters on May 17, Star Trek Into Darkness will be the first big film after Iron Man 3to go for the heavy-duty sci-fi crowd (the weekend in-between them belongs to Baz Luhrmann's lavish The Great Gatsby). Can both sequels succeed-- and in the case of Star Trek, can it manage to beat out the Marvel behemoth? It's the kind of showdown that summer movie season is all about, and it's just one of the zillion reasons we can't wait for all the big movies to go ahead and get here.
