David Fincher is officially signed on, and the site claims the film has a $47 million budget and will begin production in October. Loaded Gun have heard that scouts are actively looking for film locations in Cambridge and Boston. Based on Ben Mezrich’s book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, The Social Network tells the story of Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg, the founders of Facebook. The screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin, and the 162-page first draft has been described as “Unpredictable, Funny, Touching and Sad.” Here is the official description from the 272 page book : Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg were Harvard undergraduates and best friends–outsiders at a school filled with polished prep-school grads and long-time legacies. They shared both academic brilliance in math and a geeky awkwardness with women. Eduardo figured their ticket to social acceptance–and sexual success–was getting invited to join one of the university’s Final Clubs, a constellation of elite societies that had groomed generations of the most powerful men in the world and ranked on top of the inflexible hierarchy at Harvard. Mark, with less of an interest in what the campus alpha males thought of him, happened to be a computer genius of the first order. Which he used to find a more direct route to social stardom: one lonely night, Mark hacked into the university’s computer system, creating a ratable database of all the female students on campus–and subsequently crashing the university’s servers and nearly getting himself kicked out of school. In that moment, in his Harvard dorm room, the framework for Facebook was born. Sobre PTA, seu próximo projeto segundo o IMDB, se chama Desperadoes...procurando no google, chegam-se a dois nomes...um western antigo (1943) e uma HQ (cujo link da wikipedia deixo abaixo)...vindo de PTA, não sei o que dizer, mas até nem duvido que o tal projeto se refira a um destes dois. Rumor has it that Jesse Eisenberg has signed to play Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (how perfect is that casting?) Andrew Garfield is set to play Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, and that Justin Timberlake will play internet entrepreneur Sean Parker (Napster). If true, this is shaping up to be a very solid cast, but what else would you expect from a Fincher production? I don’t normally like Timberlake, but anyone who knows the story or has read the book will know he’s the perfect person to play Parker. Garfield broke onto the scene with a Award-winning performance in Boy A, and has since appeared in Lions for Lambs, The Other Boleyn Girl, and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Jesse Eisenberg has signed to play Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (how perfect is that casting?), Andrew Garfield is set to play Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, and Justin Timberlake will play internet entrepreneur Sean Parker (Napster). Production will begin next month in Boston and later move to Los Angeles. As I have said previously, this is shaping up to be a very solid cast. If you kn ow anything about these characters, I think you’d agree. I don’t normally like Timberlake, but anyone who knows the story for the film or has read the book will know he’s the perfect person to play Parker. Armie Hammer, Max Minghella, Rooney Mara, Dakota Johnson, Brenda Song e Josh Pence estão dentro, segundo o perfil no Facebook do roteirista do filme, Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing). Desses, apenas o papel de Hammer foi definido - aliás, os papéis, já que ele viverá os gêmeos Cameron e Tyler Winklevoss, que processaram Mark Zuckerberg por quebra de contrato oral e por ter copiado a ideia e o código-fonte da rede social dos Winklevoss, o ConnectU. Não foi informado qual é o seu papel, mas se sabe que ela irá contracenar com Justin Timberlake, Jesse Eisenberg e Andrew Garfield. Recentemente, Jones vendeu o script de Frenemy Of The State para a Universal e pode ser vista na série de TV Parks & Recreation, exibida pela NBC.
