Seven Blu-ray Coming Up

theatrical release of David Fincher's Se7en

(aka Seven) approaches, early retailer information indicates

that Warner Home Video will release this celebrated serial-killer movie

in the UK on October 25. There is no information regarding release

details or special features at the moment.

Tenho baixado em 720p e a imagem desse bd é bem boa... Por sinal, tem algumas composições (principalmente de planos gerais) que acho que ficam melhor em 1.85 do que no scope... Mas já nos closes e planos médios, acho que o 2.35 funciona melhor, porque dá mais aquela sensação de sufocamento que as cenas pedem.

 

De qualquer forma, de repente depois baixo essa versão 2.35, não vou comprar o bd não, acho o filme bem mais ou menos...

Road to Perdition Blu-ray Announced

ParamountParamount Home Entertainment has announced Road to Perdition for Blu-ray release on August 3. This crime movie from Dreamworks SKG, directed by Sam Mendes and starring Tom Hanks, Jude Law and the late Paul Newman, received multiple Academy Award nominations and won the Oscar for Best Cinematography.

Sony%20PicturesSony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the Weinstein Company title A Single Man for release on Blu-ray on July 6. A Single Man is the first film directed by fashion designer Tom Ford, and starring Colin Firth in an award-winning (and Oscar-nominated) performance as a homosexual British professor in early 1960s California.

Le mardi 22 septembre 2009, il sera possible d’acquérir en Blu-Ray ce film de science-fiction de Brian De Palma (le seul de sa carrière) réalisé il y a déjà dix ans.

La qualité de l’image ne décevra personne tant la définition est exemplaire. C’est techniquement une bien belle réussite. Par contre, s’il en est de même pour le son côté anglais où la piste DTS-HD offre une ambiance fascinante, attention : la version française comprend un problème d’inversion des canaux surround à un moment donné.
L’éditeur, Studio Canal, propose un unique documentaire, un peu court malheureusement (un peu plus de trente minutes), Vision of Mars, sur les coulisses du film, mais concentré exclusivement sur les aspects techniques du tournage, avec des interviews de l’équipe du film.

C’est l’occasion de revoir ce film relativement incompris à sa sortie, qui peut dérouter pour sa fin, mais dont les deux premiers tiers sont d’une maîtrise exceptionnelle.

The Criterion Collection are first officially announced and then come up

for preorder. But this time, the opposite has happened and five major

titles are apparently coming soon from the studio: Antichrist

(Lars Von Trier, 2009); The

Darjeeling Limited (Wes Anderson, 2007); The

Seven Samurai (Akira Kurosawa, 1954); The

Thin Red Line (Terrence Malick, 1998); and Videodrome

(David Cronenberg, 1982).

Convém informar, porém, que a caixa do dvd de Videodrome (o da Criterion) é sensacional. É em formato de fita vhs (tamanho inclusive) com a etiqueta aludindo à fita usada no filme. Isso certamente a do bd não terá, porque as caixas hoje tão padronizadas... Enfim, nesse caso vai rolar o double dip, e vou ficar com o dvd (noutros, como 8 1/2 e Pierrot Le Fou, vendi o dvd).
