Members saulomeri

Members bs11ns
To louco pra ver esse J. Edgar.

Peter Travers: "The actors are sublime." "The tale written on the eloquent faces of Davis and Spencer speaks to the heart." "Brilliant Viola Davis." "Award-caliber performance from Octavia Spencer." "Could have been a bombshell cliché if the incandescent Jessica Chastain didn't play her with such warmth and feeling." "Stone, an exceptional talent, is so subtly effective at showing Skeeter's naiveté." Roger Ebert: "Davis and Spencer have such luminous qualities that this becomes their stories." "Viola Davis is a force of nature." "Octavia Spencer has a wonderfully expressive face and flawless comic timing." "Praise, too for Emma Stone, Bryce Dallas Howard and Alison Janney. They would have benefitted from a more fearless screenplay." Michael Phillips (exalta Davis ao extremo, mas critica Howard): "The Help" has Viola Davis going for it, and she is more than enough. The actress deserves the Academy Award nomination (if not the Oscar Itself) she'll be receiving come early 2012. I'm not working for her; I'm just passing along news of the nearly inevitable." "We believe Davis every second, and it has been a few months, at least, since good and great actresses have had the opportunity to relax into scenes given some breathing room." "If only Jessica Chastain, wonderful as a sweet-natured bombshell who employs Minny on the sly, had also played Hilly! As written and as acted, heavily, by Howard, the story's key antagonist lacks the sort of specificity and detail that allows a caricature to become a character, however loathsome." Manohla Dargis (exalta parcialmente): "Ms. Davis keeps her cool even as she warms your heart and does her job, often beautifully." "Bryce Dallas Howard, energetic in a thankless role." "Emma Stone, uncharacteristically wan." "A winning Jessica Chastain." "Save for Ms. Davis’s, however, the performances are almost all overly broad, sometimes excruciatingly so, characterized by loud laughs, bugging eyes and pumping limbs." Betsy Sharkey: "The movie is richly flavored by the work of a sprawling cast that puts the exceptional Viola Davis and Emma Stone at the film's impassioned center, with the scene-stealing tang of Octavia Spencer and the sweet-tart of Jessica Chastain thankfully never far away." "This is an actress who willingly lets her jaw drop and eyes roll, but in the most natural of ways." [sobre Emma Stone] "Davis carries the weight of history in every move, she makes you feel the ache in Aibileen's aging knees as she bends to comfort a crying child, and there is a sadness that lingers in her eyes even when they are crinkled by laughter." Owen Gleiberman: "Davis and Spencer are both brilliant, etching these women's hopes and broken dreams with every line, and between the lines, too." "Bryce Dallas Howard, playing the soul of what had to be changed, gives a fearless performance, her smile treacherous, her eyes awake to every nuance of subservience (from her maid, and her friends, too)." Members Cremildo
A note on ‘Senna’ and the Oscars Posted by Guy Lodge · 4:08 am · August 12th' date=' 2011 Longtime Oscar-watchers know that the Academy’s documentary branch is a law unto itself: no amount of glowing reviews, previous awards, robust box office and/or pop-culture prominence is enough to secure a film a guaranteed nomination in the Best Documentary Feature race. Indeed, anticipating the “surprise” snub in the branch’s series of shortlists is something of an annual pundits’ parlor game: last year, Davis Guggenheim’s popular “Waiting for Superman” was the winning/losing horse, depending on your perspective. Still, inasmuch as one can predict these things, Asif Kapadia’s marvelous “Senna,” which I reviewed earlier this week, ticks all the boxes of an Oscar frontrunner in the category. A rousing, emotionally rich biopic with a strong dramatic arc that makes it accessible even to those with no interest in motor sport — the latter audience representing its biggest obstacle in the States — it arrives on US screens today boasting sensational reviews (for the number obsessives, its Metacritic score currently sits 84), record-breaking UK box office and a Sundance audience award. When it comes to BAFTA night, at least, the other four documentary nominees may as well not bother turning up. (It’ll likely be a hot contender for the Best British Film prize too.) Members Beale
Mataria a pau. Beale2011-08-13 18:26:
