Nacka
Members Cremildo
Reações a Hara-kiri: Variety liked Hara-kiri: Death of a Samurai http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117945260?refcatid=31 A formally elegant, dramatically faithful retelling of Masaki Kobayashi's 1962 black-and-white classic "Harakiri," this slow-burning tragedy will disappoint auds expecting a nonstop slash-'em-up from Asian cinema's most prolific purveyor of extreme violence. But Miike's mournful variation on traditional samurai-movie themes of honor, sacrifice and retribution offers its own rewards, and his latest tip of the hat to Japanese pics of yesteryear should find an appreciative arthouse niche even as it bores his bloodthirsty base. Slant magazine however hates it: http://www.slantmagazine.com/house/2...rai-skoonheid/ Coming off the invigorating 13 Assassins remake, Mike's complete and utter failure is by far the most disappointing revelation at Cannes. My belly hurts. IndieWIRE also wasn't kind: http://www.indiewire.com/article/201...bloody_potent# In Japanese filmmaking machine Takashi Miike’s loose adaptation of the 1962 “Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai,” the best moments come at the end...Unfortunately, it’s a lonely moment. "After seeing his impotent and droll remake, Hara-kiri: Death of a Samurai, it's clear Takashi Miike understands little to nothing about what made the original so sharp," argues Glenn Heath Jr at the House Next Door. "His textured but hollow 3D adaptation changes small but key plot elements, disavows the original's pressurized pacing, and eliminates the mystical qualities of the story's bookend sequences. Miike seems to be lost in a forest of iconography, unwilling to engage the complex ideas forming their foundation." "Anyone anticipating an action-packed companion piece to last year's 13 Assassins will need to adjust their thinking to accept something akin to a stately, slow-burning Shakespearean tragedy in which a blade is barely raised in anger before the final twenty minutes," adds Allan Hunter in Screen. "There's nothing about this drama that is naturally enhanced by 3D, but tree trunks, pillars, large rocks, or actors' backs are often placed in the foreground of a shot specifically to emphasize the effect," writes Barbara Scharres for the Chicago Sun-Times. "Looks like cheap tricks to me, and bad composition to boot." Cremildo2011-05-19 21:04:

Members Cremildo
Reações a DRIVE: The Hollywood Reporter's review of Drive: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/rev...-review-190649 Quote: Tasty, if sketchy, modern noir with car chases and bloody action that should turn the trick for genre-seeking audiences. Variety: http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117945274/ Quote: "Drive" doesn't quite know how to handle the character vacuum at its core, but compensates by surrounding its protag with a colorful supporting ensemble. There's Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad") as the surrogate father who supplies Driver his wheels; Ron Perlman as a ruthless big shot running schemes from his strip-mall pizza joint; and Albert Brooks, cast deliciously against type, as the aforementioned producer-turned-crime-boss. On the female front, vampy "Mad Men" redhead Christina Hendricks makes an all-too-brief appearance, while Mulligan, though undeniably sweet, seems too wholesome for what would typically be the pic's femme-fatale role. Still, it's surprising that a film called "Drive" doesn't feature more driving. Amini's script barely explores Driver's status as a stuntman, offering only a thin connection between his high-stakes day job and equally dangerous private life (in the form of a prosthetic mask he dons in the film's brutal score-settling finale). What the character lacks in psychology, he compensates for through action and iconic costuming. Come Halloween, don't be surprised to see fans dressed as Driver, wearing a white satin racing jacket with a giant gold scorpion on the back. "Drive" is fetishistic like that, reveling in such details as the growl of a GTO engine or the creak of Gosling's gloves, and should go a long way to boost the profiles of both its director and star. Guardian (4/5): http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/...1-drive-review Quote: He won't race off with the Palme d'Or, but Nicolas Winding Refn's existential heist movie will go down in a blaze of glory Screen Daily: http://www.screendaily.com/festivals...e/5027941.blog Quote: Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive, a hard-bitten homage to 70s car movies, is entertaining but unremarkable. A couple of superb chase sequences and a fine grasp of Los Angeles driving culture can’t disguise the shallow story - a western of sorts - in which Ryan Gosling plays a stunt driver and part-time crook who falls for his neighbour Carey Mulligan and gets dragged into a heist being pulled off by her ex-con husband and some of his shady associates. I’m not sure Gosling, a sophisticated actor better suited to rather more damaged characters, can pull off the laconic tough guy persona required of him here. A man of few words, his character is all moody macho who melts into goodness around Mulligan. Nor is she plausible as a girl as the woman torn between two petty crooks. Her looks are two sweet, her character too benign to run with this crowd. Best in the movie actually are the supporting actors like Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks, Ron Perlman and Albert Brooks who all steal scenes liberally throughout. Members Cremildo
O prêmio principal ficou com o italiano “This Must Be The Place”, de Paolo Sorrentino, estrelado por Sean Penn.
