Members Cremildo
Poetry Blu-ray Posted June 22, 2011 06:01 PM by Webmaster On August 23, Kino Video will release on Blu-ray Korean director Lee Chang-dong's Shi a.k.a Poetry (2010). In 2010, the film won Best Screenplay Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Technical specs and region coding status for this release are unknown at the moment. Mija (veteran actress Yun Jung-hee) is a beautiful woman in her sixties who moves gracefully through life, contemplating a trivial daily routine that is ill-suited to her refined persona. With elegance and a dash of eccentricity, Mija takes care of her ungrateful grandson Wook (Lee David) and makes a living by cleaning house for an elderly man who, though paralyzed by a stroke, still responds to her charm with bouts of drug-induced arousal. On a whim, Mija enrolls in a poetry class at the local cultural centre and begins a personal quest to find the perfect words to describe her feelings. However, she's plagued by the onset of Alzheimer's disease, and struggles with new vocabulary and the challenges of the creative process. When her world is turned upside down by the discovery of a monstrous crime, it is Mija's unique and touching poetry that allows her to defy the weight of shame and distance herself from a painful proximity to violence. Members Cremildo
My Fair Lady and Little Big Man Heading to Blu-ray Posted August 14, 2011 05:02 PM by Webmaster In an early announcement to retailers, Paramount Pictures has revealed that it will release on Blu-ray George Cukor's My Fair Lady (1964), starring Audrey Hepburn, Rex Harrison, and Stanley Holloway, and Arthur Penn's Little Big Man (1970), starring Dustin Hoffman, Faye Dunaway, and Martin Balsam. Street date for Little Big Man is November 8th. Street date for My Fair Lady is November 15th. My Fair Lady Audrey Hepburn has never been more "loverly" than in this breathtaking musical extravaganza that won 8 Academy Awards in 1964, including Best Picture. In this beloved adaptation of the Broadway stage hit, Hepburn plays a sassy, working class London street vendor, whom an arrogant professor (Rex Harrison) attempts to turn into a sophisticated lady through proper schooling. But, when the humble flower girl blossoms into the toast of London's elite, her teacher may have a lesson or two to learn himself. Hepburn's performance, style, and sweet spirit have made My Fair Lady a timeless classic. Little Big Man n this sweeping epic that swings from high comedy to drama, Dustin Hoffman gives a "virtuoso performance" (Hollywood Reporter) as the 121-year old sole survivor of Custer's Last Stand. Narrating his colorful life story, he tells about everything from his adoption by Cheyenne Indians to his marriages and friendships with Wild Bill Hickok. His tall tales indicate he just may be one of the biggest liars who roamed the West. Oscar-winner Faye Dunaway, Chief Dan George, Martin Balsam and Richard Mulligan co-star.
