Muito Além do Jardim:

 

Warner Home Video has announced DVD ($19.96) and Blu-ray ($28.99) releases of Being There

which stars Peter Sellers, and Shirley Maclaine. This "Deluxe Edition"

of the Hal Ashby directed film will be available to own from the 3rd

February. As well as a remastered presentation, the DVD will include a

Memories From Being There featurette with Illeana Douglas

(granddaughter of Melvyn Douglas). The Blu-ray release will include

that, along with additional scenes/outtakes, and an alternate ending.

Warner Home Video has provided us with artwork for DVD ($29.98) and Blu-ray ($39.99) Limited Edition Giftsets of The Notebook

which stars Ryan Gosling, and Rachel McAdams. Each release will include

filmmaker/novelist commentaries, deleted scenes, making of featurettes,

a Rachel McAdams screentest, plus The Notebook scrapbook with images

from the film plus scrapbooking accessories and pages, themed

notecards, envelopes and bookmarks. We've attached the official package

artwork below:

Sobre "O Cão Branco"' date=' eis um pequeno grande filme. Um cão que sem motivos ataca as pessoas parece premissa daqueles filmes que passavam no SBT, aos domingos, depois das 22h, na década de 1980; filmes trash, como do ataque das tarântulas, das cobras etc. que nós outros, crianças, comentávamos meio entusiamados, meio irônicos, no recreio na tarde do dia seguinte. Porém, a partir do momento em que descobrimos que o cão branco só ataca negros porque foi assim treinado pelo seu dono, um filme supostamente B vira uma reflexão crítica sobre o racismo latente em nossa sociedade. Uma metáfora simples, sem dúvida, mas filmada com talento e eficiência pelo Fuller.[/quote']

 

Carai me lembro direitinho desse filme..   SPOILER   Lembro do tiozinho q era dono levando uma caixa de bom bom pra moça q havia achado o cão... E ela pergunta se ele havia treinado o bicho pra ser um "cão branco" e ele primeiro se espanta, depois sorri e diz q sim"é o melhor da ninhada" !!! Massa esse filme!!!

O que eu reparei foi uma queda brusca e visível na qualidade de imagem de alguns DVDs... Só para efeito de comparação idiota, observei Disque M Para Matar (Warner, 1954) e Janela Indiscreta (Universal, 1954). Ambos filmes BEM velhos, mas a qualidade da imagem do primeiro chega a ser assombroso perto do segundo (e olhe que o segundo foi restaurado e tal). Teria alguma coisa a ver com o fato de que a Universal sempre trabalhou com a Microservice?

Ah, sim, este tópico não cobre as edições especiais internacionais. É que as nacionais estão cada vez mais raras, como vocês mesmos estavam comentando acima; acabo achando que as edições gringas poderiam ser de interesse para alguém.

A Universal trabalha com a Microservice há anos, mas no começo ela trabalhava com a Videolar...eu sei disso pq trabalhei em locadora e as notas fiscais dos filmes da Universal vinham seladas pela Videolar. Mas eles tiveram uma briga meio feia e romperam contrato indo parar na Microservice...isso faz bastante tempo..nesse meio tempo a Warner tb trocou a Videolar pela Microservice e finalmente volta a Videolar. Qto a Universal, se a tal briga foi feia mesmo como me contaram, acho que não existe chance de retorno, a não ser por mudança de diretoria por parte da Universal.

E lembro aqui que recentemente a Buena Vista/Disney tb trocou a Videolar, mas pela Sonopress, o que explica (provavelmente) a mudança no box da quarta temporada de Lost e algumas cagadas recentes da BVHE (como não lançamento da edição dupla de Wall-E).
