Catch Me If You Can Blu-ray Detailed

Posted September 7, 2012 02:26 PM by Webmaster

27572_medium.jpgparamount.jpgParamount Home Media Distribution has officially announced and detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of director Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can (2002), starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks and Christopher Walken. The release will be available for purchase online and in stores across the nation December 4th.

The Catch Me If You Can Blu-ray release includes a digitally remastered version of the film plus over an hour of bonus features that delve into the casting, filming and real-life story of the man who inspired the movie. In addition, the disc includes a look at the musical score, an exploration of the FBI's perspective on Frank Abagnale and multiple photo galleries.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks star in this crime-caper by Steven Spielberg, based on the true story of Frank W. Abagnale Junior. As a teenager, Abagnale (DiCaprio) discovers he has a talent for impersonating officials, beginning with posing as a substitute teacher. Finding solace in his new gift - his mother leaves his father (Walken) after she discovers he is heavily in debt to the IRS - Abagnale goes on to impersonate airline pilots, doctors and even a lawyer, whilst also managing to con banks out of over $2 million. However, his escapades soon attract the interest of FBI agent Carl Hanratty (Hanks) who seems to be always one step behind. That is until Abagnale decides to settle down and discovers that his future father-in-law (Martin Sheen) is the D.A of New Orleans. The real Abagnale appears in a cameo and, after serving time in prison, now works as a consultant for preventing forgery and fraud.

Driving Miss Daisy and Mrs. Miniver Heading to Blu-ray

Posted September 17, 2012 11:32 PM by Webmaster

37067_medium.jpgwb.jpg43653_medium.jpgWarner Home Entertainment has revealed that it is planning to bring to Blu-ray two Oscar winning films: William Wyler's Mrs. Miniver (1942), starring Greer Garson, Walter Pidgeon and Teresa Wright, and Bruce Beresford's Driving Miss Daisy (1989), starring Morgan Freeman, Jessica Tandy and Dan Aykroyd.

The studio has not yet officially announced and detailed these upcoming releases, but has provided early cover works for them. Blu-ray.com will provide you with additional details as soon as the studio issues an official announcement.

Mrs. Miniver

Winner of six Academy Awards including Best Picture, this memorable spirit-lifter about an idealized England that tends to its prize-winning roses while confronting the terror of war struck a patriotic chord with audiences and became 1942's #1 box-office hit. Greer Garson gives a formidable Oscar-winning title-role performance, comforting children in a bomb shelter, capturing an enemy parachutist and delivering an inspirational portrait of stiff-upper lip British resolve. When Hitler did his worst, Mrs. Miniver did her best.

Driving Miss Daisy

Alfred Uhry's moving Pulitzer Prize-winning play became 1989's Academy Award-winning Best Picture. Driving Miss Daisy tells of genteel but strong-willed Atlanta matron Daisy (Best Actress Oscar-winner Jessica Tandy) and her patient but equally determined chauffeur Hoke (Morgan Freeman). For two so different, they have a lot in common. And the bumpy road they travel leads to the friendship of a lifetime. From the film's nine Oscar nominations, it drove off with two more awards: Best Adaptation Screenplay (Uhry) and Makeup.
