Posted January 28, 2020 Author Members Report Share Posted January 28, 2020 Candidato da Colômbia ao Oscar, "Monos" chamou a atenção na temporada desde Berlim e Sundance, e alcançou alguns feitos no Spirit Awards e que tais, mas principalmente menções elogiosas à trilha sonora de Mica Levi e à Fotografia de Jasper Wolf, ambas conseguindo ressaltar a esplêndida força da natureza amazônica, principalmente em sua feição de "perigo". O roteiro é completamente despolitizado. A sigla FARC - Forças Armadas Revolucionárias da Colômbia - não é mencionada nenhuma vez. Inclusive, pela crítica brasileira e internacional. Estou lendo algumas críticas e é impressionante como a menção ao grupo tomou chá de sumiço. Os adolescentes vulgarmente militarizados são tratados apenas como "um grupo de jovens". Entendo um colombiano não precisar explicar a situação, mas não entendo essa interpretação cândida das pessoas. Será por que aquela organização terrorista tem tentáculos mais que sabidos, por exemplo, na nossa política nacional? Socorro! As FARC são aqui emuladas como um grupo de despreparados, boçais, violentos, que se aproveitam da situação de vulnerbilidade social das comunidades para recrutar jovens sem perspectivas. A trilha e a Fotografia já elogiadas têm o papel primordial de mostrar como a Natureza protege e esconde a ação daquela proto-organização. Para completar, os atores jovens e a (como sempre ótima) Julianne Nicholson, que faz a refém do grupo, estão todos muito bem. Posted January 30, 2020 Author Members Report Share Posted January 30, 2020 "The Cave", indicado ao Oscar na categoria de Melhor Documentário, retrata a vida em um hospital da cidade de Ghouta Ocidental na Síria, há alguns anos atrás (acho que 2013), portanto, não está "atualizado" - digamos assim. A particularidade desse hospital é que ele é chamado de "The cave" pois, para fugir dos bombadeios, ele foi sendo escavado, e alargado para uma rede subterrânea, que também virou lugar de refúgio de parte da população (na época ao redor de 400.000 pessoas). Irmão de "For Sama", a câmera segue uma médica, majoritariamente; e outros funcionários do hospital. E também consegue capturar o registro de uma festa, piadas, a luta pela alimentação racionada, todas essas situações presentes em "For Sama" também. A médica é muito inteligente e completamente descrente da religião, que, claro, não ajuda ninguém ali naquela situação desesperadora. Eu estava assistindo e a certo ponto pensei: "Poxa, quantas criancinhas, como alguém pode pensar em ter filhos nessa situação?!' E então - de agnóstico para agnóstico - a médica falará a mesma coisa, até ser repreendida por um crente: "Que Deus te perdoe pelo que você falou". Os 15 minutos finais são muito fortes, com o hospital se superlotando de crianças vítimas de armamento químico russo. Revoltante, nojento, um horror. Feras Fayaad alcança aqui sua segunda indicação, a anterior foi pelo brilhante e emocionante "Last Men In Aleppo", de 2018. Seu "Krisha", de 2015, é um dos filmes mais difíceis que já assisti. Bom, "Waves" também é triste e melancólico, tentando abordar lentamente a dinâmica familiar até chegar a um evento traumático (que só acontece lá pelo minuto 50). O lance do filme é que acontece uma troca inesperada de protagonista. Há anos escrevo que essa estratégia de roteiro sempre me fascina. Acho ousado e difícil de fazer. O problema é que falta enredo demais. O que tem de estilo, de músicas elegantes bem escolhidas, o que tem de boa fotografia, o que tem de gabarito, tem, em contraste, com falta de enredo. Não há resolução de conflitos. Ficam todos em suspenso, sem respostas. Pra mim é incompreensível pensar que alguém considerou o filme para Melhor Roteiro, só por causa do redirecionamento da história. Mais incompreensível é a consideração de Sterling K. Brown para Ator Coadjuvante, mormente em um ano tão forte na categoria. Ele está muito bem, mas, do nada, desaparece do filme por uns 40 minutos. Desaparece do verbo desaparecer. Acho que dos 4, ele seria o "elo fraco" que poderia perder pra alguém, dependendo das circunstância. Todos os outros 3, acho que estão mais seguros. No Bafta, não ficaria surpreso dele perder pro Hopkins, já que talvez o pessoal lá pode querer votar num ator inglês. Questão no Oscar é que Pacino-Pesci podem dividir votos de quem gostou de O Irlandês, e aí o Pitt leva, mas apesar dos esforços da Netflix em cima do Pacino, o povo está votando naturalmente pro Pesci, mesmo sem ele fazer campanha, aí talvez se decidirem todos ir só nele? Quem nem o Globo de Ouro que tem 'melhor ator de drama' e 'melhor ator comédia/musical', ou nessa premiação que tem 'melhor ator' e 'melhor ator inglês', porque, convenhamos, o Joaquin está papando tudo e não deixando nada pra ninguém, mas quando a premiação tem 2 categorias acaba que algum outro ator ganha alguma coisa, que nem o Taron que ganhou no Globo de Ouro, e aí o Pettinson ganhando nessa premiação. Administrators Big One Posted January 31, 2020 Administrators Report Share Posted January 31, 2020 Bombshell 2019 Curiosidade, o ator Mark Duplass faz o marido da Charize Theron, trabalha também na série da Apple+ The Morning Show (muito boa por sinal) que trata do mesmo tema...aqui ele é o marido que defende a esposa. Sobre o filme, meu, preciso revê-lo dublado, sério, os diálogos e a edição são tão ágeis que fica difícil ler a legenda e perder alguma cena, tem muito closes em reações, olhares, dicas, insinuações e se vc está lendo a legenda vc está perdendo algo na cena. Eu sabia somente do escândalo envolvendo o Bill O' Relly e mesmo assim bem superficialmente e realmente foi uma bomba...velhos predadores, que coisa de louco, o que essas mulheres tiveram que passar. O trio (Charlize, Nicole e Margot (esta a única personagem fictícia do filme)) estão excelente não só pela maquiagem, caracterização e postura qto na interpretação. Confiávamos no talento deles. Porém, o filme foi um fracasso de crítica. Hoje fui saber a razão. A história é muito forçada. Dá um golpe no espectador, ao superinventar seu desfecho. Posted February 1, 2020 Author Members Report Share Posted February 1, 2020 Premiado em Sundance, no Festival de São Paulo, e no NYFCC, e mundo afora, "Honeyland" é uma das grandes surpresas da lista do Oscar, pois conseguiu, pela primeira vez, avançar em Melhor Documentário e Melhor Filme Internacional ao mesmo tempo. Representando a Macedônia do Norte, mostra a vida em um rincão montanhoso daquele país dos Balcãs, cuja escassa população rural ainda vive da subsistência. É um documentário de observação, nesse sentido, é o exato oposto do interventor "Democracia em Vertigem", já que em "Honeyland" a câmera é quieta, testemunhal, sem trabalho narrativo, sem off lacrimoso, sem definir os fatos pelas impressões pessoais dos diretores. "Honeyland" é cru. Pra mim, até demais, já que não suporto ver mau trato animal, e foi um suplício em certos momentos. Mas o sofrimento humano, da mãe da retratada, foi ainda pior. É pra destroçar o coração das pessoas. Tenho sabido que "Honeyland" foi realizado ao longo de 3 anos, e que seus diretores não sabiam nem falar turco. Logo, não compreeendiam muito das dinâmicas ali. Não sei se é verdade. Seus temas: ecologia; defesa animal; saber tradicional; desamparo estatal; ambição exploratória...São muitas camadas. Tudo isso, sem lacração. "You are so Beautiful", do grande Joe Cocker, pra mim, nunca mais terá o mesmo significado. OBS: Apresenta-nos o pior vizinho da face da Terra. Quero apenas matá-lo. Tendo visto todos os candidatos a Melhor Documentário; 4 excelentes; e 1 chororô chapa-branca; meu voto iria para "American Factory". Só que num caso real impensavelmente maior, de proporções planetárias, envolvendo a empresa química Dupont. O filme é muito bom, com uma ótima atuação do Ruffalo, fotografia esverdeada e azul do craque Edward Lachman, e montado pelo brasileiro Affonso Gonçalvez em sua maravilhosa carreira. Porém, é um filme de advogado. Todd Haynes, sempre tão criativo, sempre tão elegante, não conseguiu acrescentar nada de novo ao filão. Depois do desacerto de "Sem Fôlego", acho que preferiu apenas fazer algo convencional. O que ele nunca faz. Vale a pena ver, sim. É um bom trabalho. Só não é - digamos - um avanço artístico.
