[Audience laughs] I just want to say thank you for letting me be a part of this amazing tradition. It’s been such a pleasure to be working with Gary, Christian, Chris and the rest of this incredible cast and crew. You guys are all going to be very pleased. CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: I just want to say how excited we are to be back here at Wizard World Chicago again. The last time we were here, we were only three weeks into the shooting schedule. I love Chicago, it’s just an incredible place architecturally and the town is great. This time we wanted to expand the scope of the shooting and wanted to include real buildings, real streets and more location shooting. You wouldn’t believe how many people in Chicago come up to me and thank me for bringing this film to life. QUESTION: What’s the best part about working together again? CHRISTIAN BALE: It’s like how any relationship progresses. There’s an increase in communication and trust. Chris movies are fantastic. It’s great working together again for the third time, the second time on this character. We stride purposely toward the good of the movie from the get-go. CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: It’s extraordinary to work with Christian again. He has extraordinary precision, and the great thing about working with him is his ability to do a lot of the physical work and the stunts. It makes my job easier to be able make this film with someone with his extraordinary talents. CHRISTIAN BALE: It was like riding a bike. The second you put on the suit, to me, there’s only one way to play it. How different is it preparing for superheroes and supervillain roles as opposed to traditional roles? GARY OLDMAN: I think it always helps to have good material. If the script is well written, I like to think of it as my map of the world. The roles you take on have particular hurdles. There’s no particular approach you take on, whether it’s Gordon or Sid Vicious. A lot of roles I play are hard to research. But with this project there are great characters, great script and a great cast. AARON ECKHART: I cannot add to what Gary just said. It would be blasphemy and I’d be kicked out of the union. I’d like to know what you guys thought of all the viral marketing done for the movie and if you know if we can expect anything else, say, around December? [Audience laughs] JONAH NOLAN: I don’t know anything. [Audience laughs] CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: There’s nothing we can say about it. Were you guys behind it? CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: Thank you. That’s very kind. All I can usefully say is I always made films growing up with our older brother Matt from Super 8 films to 16MM and up to 35MM. I’m very lucky to be doing something I love and enjoy. Chris and Jonah, when you guys have worked together in the past, like on “Memento,” you have a very distinctive style when it comes to writing. Are you using a similar style here? CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: As far as the chronological style? No less than in “Batman Begins.” The challenge for us here, and this is something I spoke to David and Jonah a lot about, was more that there were lots of characters and more of an epic scope to this film. The storytelling is very much conventional drama. The challenge was in juggling a fat story. PAUL LEVITZ: I’ve noticed a similarity in style not so much in terms of how time works, but on how you treated the characters. Do you feel like as far as how the characters moved through the story that was the case? CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: Yeah. It was all about trying to figure out whose point of view each scene was from, whose story which part of the movie was and how you could relate to the characters. This is a question for both Mr. Bale and the writers: Will you be playing up more of the “Dark Knight Detective”/criminologist angle of Batman this time? [Audience applauds] CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: The short answer is “Yes.” The long answer is that “Batman Begins” was an origin story and the important thing was to move the story forward. In this movie, the detective stuff will help move the story along. This is for Christian. What do you find more physically demanding? Something like this or something like “The Machinist” where you had to change your physical appearance? CHRISTIAN BALE: I think those things are entirely different. This role is about moving with a power and force. “Machinist” required more mental discipline, and I was at a point where I was so weak I couldn’t have even walked across this stage. And in this one it’s essential that the character be physical. Rachel Dawes is in this film again but already served her purpose in the first film as a love interest who tells Bruce that he’s become Batman. Why bring her back? CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: Will she serve a real purpose again? Yes, but you have to see the movie. What are the most important aspects of the Joker that you needed to incorporate in this film? CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: We looked at it the other way around. We found a way of looking at the character and saw what role he would play in the film. The Joker card at the end of the first film created the right kind of feeling. That was the hook that got us thinking about the next one. We were looking through comics and Joker stories and we started writing the treatment before we even wrote “The Prestige.” Jonah called me and said, “Have you read the first two Joker appearances?” I had but not in a really long time. We’ve come around to something that’s eerily close to those first two appearances. DAVID GOYER: Once we established “Batman Begins,” it was one take on Batman. The Joker was a little more theatrical, a little more comedic, the way Jack Nicholson played him. We had to decide how does the Joker fit in this world? JONAH NOLAN: It was not how to get into the character of the Joker but how to get him out of my head. I spent so much time researching the Joker, I felt he was in my head. On a scale of 1 to 10, is there any interest in a Batman/Superman World’s Finest movie? DAVID GOYER: For me, after working on this project, it’s zero. JONAH NOLAN: When I was a teenage, my brother gave me a copy of The Dark Knight returns, which has a very similar scene in it. I couldn’t put a number on it. Continuando: The trailer begins ominously, with a shadow lurking over The Tumbler, or what looked to be the remains of The Tumbler (the sound of "cracking", as if from a fire or explosion, could be heard, but faintly). It then cut to Bruce and Alfred in a dimly-lit room overlooking a massive city (the penthouse suite?), exchanging dialouge almost directly lifted from the teaser trailer (as also can be read in my signature). The camera closes in tightly on Alfred, as he mutters, quietly, "Some men just want to watch the world burn", and an action montage begins. I am going to try and describe what happens next as best to my ability, because it happened all very fast. The next scene showed Batman riding the Batpod in what appeared to be Lower Wacker (which I remember seeing filming only weeks ago, which was weird). Now, the next clip was very brief, but it appeared to be The Joker entering an apartment-like area (the Wayne penthouse?) with clown-faced thugs behind him. The Joker was wearing purple, and had his arms extended almost like he was reaching for the sky. The next clip had Jim Gordon, complete in SWAT gear, muttering some lines to an officer about no prints, no ID, etc etc. The next shot, which was utterly cool, was The Joker locked in an interrogation room, blood smeared on his face, his eyes appearing sunken and his expression that of almost like taunting. The next scene has Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent together, in what appeared to be a municipal building, and Dent saying something along the lines of "Rachel's told me everything about you" and Wayne mutters, quietly, "I truly hope not", under his breath. It then gets a bit chaotic, and we get flashes of the new Batsuit inside a trapped closet of sorts, rising from the ground in Wayne's Penthouse suite, The Joker pressing a knife against Rachel Dawes's face (as seen in the photo recently released) with the camera pressing hard with close-ups of The Joker, eyes closed, leaning in as the knife cuts Rachel's face only a tiny bit. It then cut to Batman and The Joker fighting intensely in a closed-off room, a derelict hospital of sorts, as Batman throws The Joker right smack into a table. Lots of short snippets of The Batmobile racing down streets, including a quick bit where The Batmobile slams directly into a wall covered in fire. The two shots of the action montage had The Joker, appearing to be quite alone, walking on an open street, firing a machine gun mercilessly and then a quick flash of The Joker laughing maniacally, as seen from the perspective of a news camera, before it appears to fall and smash on the ground, the screen going all fritzy and then dark. Now, the very last scene, had the creaking sound of a door opening. A barman serves what looks like a police officer (Flass?) some drinks. Footsteps walk on the ground. The barman and police officer don't notice this person, and the camera only gives obscure shots. The barman tilts his head and we get a very eerie and still shot of Dent sitting in a booth, his left side only visible, and what appeared to be purple discoloration on his neck. There was nothing at all cheerful about what was shown, and it seemed that the world was in chaos. Another thing I forgot to mention was the footage of the Joker laughing hysterically in black and white as though shot by a home video camera. Complete psycho-manic moment. Very effective... it really was just awesome. Joker in a cell looking like he'd rip your head off if you came close...awesomeness -------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOF: On Saturday, August 10, 2007, THE DARK KNIGHT crew made an hour long appearance at Wizard World Chicago. Representing TDK was David Goyer (story), Jonah Nolan (script), Chris Nolan (director), Christian Bale (The Batman), Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent), and Gary Oldman (Jim Gordon). The panel was moderated by DC head honcho, Paul Levitz. Also attending, but not on the panel, was producers Emma Thomas and Charles Roven. The panel was held in a very large ballroom with several hundred Bat-fans packed to the gills. To get in, you had to pick up a wristband the morning of the event at the DC Comics area at the convention. One also received a very cool T-shirt with the TDK logo on front and “IN THEATERS JULY 2008” underneath. When hit with a fluorescent light, you’re able to see it plastered with “HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Levitz introduced the panelists one by one and each received an enthusiastic round of applause -- especially Chris Nolan, Christian Bale, and Gary Oldman. Levitz made some general statements ending by saying that giving one of the DC characters to a filmmaker is like having your child adopted -- you want the best for them and in good hands. He then said that he’s never been more honored to work with someone like he has been able to with Chris Nolan. At that point, each of the panel members made some general statements about the film and how glad they were to be in Chicago at Wizard World, etc, etc. etc. Here are a few misc. comments from the guys: * Jonah Nolan let everyone know that he grew up a Batman fan and was raised in Chicago. * Bale said that it’s an honor to reprise the role of the most badass superhero there is. * Eckhart he’s glad to be part of Batman and everyone will be pleased with what’s going on. * Bale said that he didn’t grow up a Batman fan and that his only exposure to the character was the Adam West TV show. But he read Frank Miller’s YEAR ONE and said to himself, “Why in the HELL hasn’t anyone made THIS Batman [into a film] before?” He now loves the character and it is evident. * Chris Nolan again mentioned the first two Joker stories in BATMAN #1 as having a very strong influence on the story and how The Joker is portrayed. He also said that when deciding to use The Joker, he and David Goyer had to think about how this character would exist -- what would he be like -- in the BEGINS universe. How does he “fit?” * Jonah Nolan says that he now is having a hard time “…getting The Joker out of my head.” * Chris guaranteed that we’re going to see more of “The Dark Knight Detective” in TDK. * David Goyer said that he was worried about not topping BATMAN BEGSIN, but simply coming close. But he worries no more, “My jaw is dropping with this one.” * And yet again, every damn person talked about “The Heath-Joker.” The most commonly used phrase to describe his work on this film: “Brilliant.” After the panel comments and a brief Q&A session with fans, about 3 minutes of footage was screened for the audience. My initial reaction? TDK is really dark. We got to see… The Batmobile and the Batpod in action… The first meeting between Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent… A cool shot of The Batman on top of a building scanning the city… Several brief shots of Heath Ledger as The Joker -- and he’s one sick and sadistic-looking bastard… The Joker in a jail cell… The Joker blasting away with a machine gun… The Batman kicking The Joker’s ass… And a guy asking Harvey (who we only see from behind), “Dent? I thought you were dead?” And Harvey responds, “Half.” All in all, some great stuff that didn’t reveal a damn thing -- except confirm to me that THE DARK KNIGHT is going to kick some major arse next summer! ------------------------------------------------------- in every shot they showed of the joker, his grin was absolutelyflawless. u definitely will not be disappointed. in one clip it looked like he had just gotten the crap beat out of him and he was on the floor laughing and ledger pulled it off brilliantly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The highlight of the panel for everyone was the footage shown at the end of the panel. By Kiel Phegley Posted August 11, 2007 8:40 PM Minutes ago, the capacity crowd at Wizard World Chicago was treated to the first look at “The Dark Knight” – the much anticipated sequel to fan favorite “Batman Begins.” With actors Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and Aaron Eckhart on hand along with Nolan and screenwriters Jonah Nolan and David Goyer, DC Publisher Paul Levitz led the crowd through a spirited and secretive Q&A before getting to a sneak peek at the Dark Knight’s most recent on-screen battle with his arch nemesis, The Joker. Fans were only allowed to see it once, and while it might be some time before the footage will be released to theaters across America, Wizard Universe was on hand to witness the action and give a full report. Thefootage started with a silhouette of a dark figure in front of one of Batman’s armored vehicles before quickly cutting to Bruce Wayne and Alfred delivering the brief lines heard in the “Dark Knight” teaser trailer. “Some people just want to watch the world burn,” advises Alfred before the camera jumps to Batman in action on the Batpod, the new iteration of his motorcycle. The action built up as the Joker was seen in full for the first time with a mess of white face, smeared red lipstick and sweaty, straggly green hair. Apparently, the clown prince of crime gets arrested at one point in the film, as the montage presented Jim Gordon (complete in SWAT gear) at the Joker’s booking, saying, "no prints, no ID, custom clothes, no tags.” The clown smiles with what appears to be blood over his face from the inside of an interrogation room. Checking back in with Bruce Wayne, the billionaire playboy has a brief scene with Eckhart’s Harvey Dent where he says “Rachel’s told me everything about you.” “I truly hope not,” responds Wayne. The footage sped up at that point into an intense montage of action, featuring the following clips: - The new batsuit rising up from a trap door in the ground and held in a chain metal case. - Rachel Dawes (played by Maggie Gyllenhaal) close to an unidentified man either kissing him or being threatened by him as the camera rotates around them. - The Joker and Batman battling in close quarters (possibly a hospital room). Batman throws Joker over a table and crashing into the ground while the clown smiles at him. It should be noted that the Joker was done up in his signature purple suit. - Plenty of big, bold Batmobile action including a shot where the tank-like car drives through a wall of flame. In fact, flames were pretty much everywhere in the footage as it appears Joker does actually make the world burn. - There is also a shot of a somewhat grim-faced Joker walking across a city street mercilessly firing a machine gun as well as a television close-up of the Joker laughing hysterically. - Two major additions to the speculation that Two Face will appear in the film came in the form of a single shot of a spinning 50 cent piece and the final image: after the action montage has slowed down, the camera cuts to a bartender looking at Harvey Dent, whose only onscreen presence is his left shoulder and a bit of a reddish-purple scarred neck. “Dent! I thought you were dead!” the man gasps, to which Harvey replies, “Half.” -------------------------------------------------------- The footage was absolutely amazing, I just returned home. It was an incredible day. Firstly: very nice to meet Riskproductions, Typeorocks and Gregchick. It made the day much more bearable. Now to the good stuff: The panel was fantastic. David Goyer, Jonah Nolan, Chris Nolan, Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman. Oldman received a hero's welcome that was only dwarfed by Bale's. Bale was pretty stunned by the amazingly loud and prolonged applause at his arrival. The entire cast was very humble and expressed genuine enthusiasm at being there. On Eckhart's entrance he put his hand up to his face briefly, covering half....a clear nod to the future =) The footage itself was as fantastic as it sounded in the description. Heath Ledger moving around as the Joker was absolutely freaky and there were several shots of him just sitting and walking...looking absolutely creepy. Him sitting reminded me of Arkham Asylum creepiness, and him walking was: if I saw that guy walking towards me I'd go screaming the other way. Batman footage was brief but awesome. One of the highlights for me was definitely Batman seeming to beat the crap out of the Joker, flipping him through a table, then a cut to the Joker's laughing face as he is pummelled. Pure awesomeness. And the ending had the room roaring. -------------------------------------------------------------- ust got back from the tdk ww panel, and the footage definitely did not disappoint. dent's voice at the end was definitely not his normal voice, but in a two-face tone that seemed really gruff/badass. i dont think anyone would have been able to sneak actual footage, but maybe audio. they had about maybe 10 guys in suits with night vision goggles, and right before they showed the clip nolan himself said he was very hesitant to show us the clip cuz he doesn't like showing previews. also it was the first time any of the actors had seen the footage, so out of respect for nolan and the cast, i think there was a major guilt trip for anyone trying to sneak any type of recording of the clip. also, the screen wasn't very large, so unless u were in the first few rows it would probably be very indiscernible. also the audio was really frakking loud, to the point where it was being distorted. so to anyone who actually got a recording, u've got guts. but all in all the clip was absolutely amazing. oh and they did show the truck flip and the suv/truck smashing into the falling/burning helicopter which was really sweet. they also showed batman riding up on the batpod from lower wacker which was a nice shot. felipef2007-08-11 22:33:47

Para fechar o dia com essa de quem morre, que não morre. A informação da Miranda Fox (celebridade nos fóruns gringos que tá na cara que trabalha ou tem parente que trabalha na produção) confirma que não morre: Alfred, Gordon e Coringa e ainda que há uma falsa morte no filme, a do Gordon.
