"Youth": Nada como um filme após o outro. Que maravilha! Meu Sorrentino favorito, até agora. São tantas boas ideias, ideias humoradas, como um Maradona (ídolo máximo do diretor) de bengala, como os roteiristas jovens (e mal ajambrados e nerds) serem os únicos entusiasmados pela carreira do diretor em fim de carreira (eles parecem muito com uma gente aí que eu conheço...); são tantos movimentos de câmera interessantes, bem como aquela mudança de perspectiva da cena, ora filmada de perto, ora de longe, parece que ele filma com 50 câmeras; são tantas cenas artisticamente deslumbrantes (o que é a cena da piscina? Não precisa dizer nada); um filme precioso, precioso. Sinceramente, preciso ver todas as concorrentes antes de afirmar se a indicação de Jane Fonda é correta ou não. É apenas uma cena, uma ceninha, ao mesmo tempo é o ponto de inflexão do filme, mas ainda assim é só um ceninha... Como pode-se cogitar indicar o Matt Damon e não o Michael Caine?...Harvey Keitel, indicado apenas uma vez pelo ótimo e subestimado "Bugsy", o cara de "O Piano" só tem uma indicação, fala sério! Paul Dano...o seu dia virá!!! E agora a pergunta: Por que este filme não está indicado em Melhor Elenco no SAG? As pessoas enlouqueceram! Quanto a Melhor Canção...Já ganhou! O momento em que ela está incorporada ao filme, o significado dela para as personagens, somada àquela montagem... Realmente não tem disputa. Meu segundo filme (talvez terceiro) preferido em 2015.

" I Smile Back": O pior filme que eu vi em muito, muito tempo. Candidatíssimo ao Razzie awards. Dono da cena mais constrangedora do ano. Um filme sem qualquer qualidade dramatúrgica, sem qualquer qualidade cinematográfica, um roteiro sem nada de interessante, personagens patéticos funcionando em modo trauma, em suma: terrível. Eu tive que conferir o nome do diretor para me certificar de que há um diretor por trás deste filme. Sarah Silverman indicada ao SAG prova que tem uma ótima agente! Querida nos bastidores do SNL? Ok, só que isso não deveria ser o bastante, o SAG não deveria ser um prêmio de quem é mais bem relacionado. Repete a velha história: ficou nua, foi indicada.Eu disse que seria o "Cake" deste ano, mas - acreditem - "Cake" é "E o vento levou..." perto deste filme. Poupem o tempo de vocês.

"Straight Outta Comton": E não é que essa porra do caralho é boa, mesmo? Um palavrão por segundo, mas tudo é muito bem feito e funciona. Quando se tem muito dinheiro por trás, muita produção, Matthew Libatique na fotografia, seu filme-encomenda em homenagem aos parças do passado parece até um clipe estendido do Kendrick Lamar, ou então parece, por vezes, um "Hustle and Flow" com menos senso dramatúrgico. Aliás, a trajetória do filme de 2005 e desta produção aqui é bem parecida. "Hustle and Flow" também foi indicado em elenco no SAG daquele ano ( detalhe que aquele ano é simplesmente um dos mais fodas da história!!), e mais nada, nem o Terrence Howard, nem a Taraji P. Henson, naquela performance emocionante (ela que hoje é uma estrela da tv americana, e que só viria a ser indicada por aquele filme de bosta, anos depois) entraram na lista do sindicato. O mesmo se dá aqui: O SAG também só indicou o enorme elenco desta vez. A diferença para "Hustle & Flow" é que aqui não há o momento: "It`s hard out here for a pimp". Uma canção original sensacional para fazer o filme decolar e lacrar o Oscar de Canção, como em 2006. No Oscar, é possível uma indicação a Filme, considerando que esta produção é um enorme sucesso e ressoa em nichos de muito poder em Hollywood. Vislumbro indicação em Mixagem de Som também, seguindo a tradição de biografias musicais.

Cate Blanchett - "Elizabeth" (maravilhoso) e "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" (péssimo). Acho que há casos mais antigos. Não me conformo com esta lista de Ator Coadjuvante. Poderia ter sido uma lista excelente, histórica. Mas Keaton e Ruffalo anularam-se. Eu não levo muito a sério a categoria de elenco do SAG. Consigo me lembrar de inúmeros casos nos quais o vencedor nem sequer passou perto de disputar pra valer Melhor Filme. Mas, realmente, não dá para desconsiderar os segmentos: ator, atriz, e respectivos coadjuvantes. Não é que acertam sempre, "in totum", como no ano passado, longe disso. Mas acertam. É o que a categoria de atores sindicalizados quer. Eles querem o Bryan Cranston indicado. Ponto. Se "The Martian" fosse mesmo forte, Matt Damon estaria indicado. É o que eu penso. Tô muito surpreso pela ausência de "Creed". E olhem a intensa campanha do Depp dando resultado. Cary Fukunaga pode ser indicado (é até merecido, embora eu nunca mais veja aquilo ali). Jennifer Jason Leigh vai crescer muito até o Oscar (O dvd de "The Hateful 8" não foi enviado a tempo para o SAG), todo mundo adorando a dinâmica dela em cena com o Russel, segundo Peter Hammond.

Vou colocar essa rídicula lista do SAG, restrita ao que toca ao cinema, apenas para eu nunca mais me esquecer de algumas coisas: Eles atores filmes sobre si mesmos ("TRUMBO" liderando as indicações, pasmem!). Nunca desconsiderar Helen Mirren para nada (Casada com diretor de cinema ex-presidente da Academia, status de "Dame", boa atriz, etc). Eles não admiram filmes com temática feminina (neste ano, só deu filme machomacho). Pode ser o filme que for, eles não gostam de sci-fi. Filmes de dezembro não entram no SAG. Eles amam categorias fraudadas. A lógica de ensemble é: quanto mais astros melhor. O estúdio que fizer uma grande festa no fim de semana anterior terá seu filme lembrado ( "Straigth Outta Compton") Meu maior acerto mesmo sem ver o filme: Jacob Tremblay está cotadíssimo parar entra nesta confusa lista dos 5 de Coadjuvantes. Meu maior erro mesmo sem ver o filme: Nunca dar a mínima para "The Big Short". É, o povo assiste a Netflix... Mais importante: "Spotlight" já venceu! Esta lista de Ator fechou, heim?! "The Look of Silence": Como se não bastasse "The Act of killing" perder o Oscar para "Twenty feet from stardom", em 2014; a nova obra-prima de Joshua Oppenheimer pode perder o Oscar para "Amy"! Qual a razão? O documentário ser legendado? Não ser pop? Ao contrário, ser sério, pesado, e relevante? O Brasil está em crise, caminhando rapidamente para a decadência, mas a Indonésia desses filmes nos serve como consolo. Que inferno é viver ali! "The Look of Silence" não é bem uma continuação de "The Act of Killing". Não faz uma encenação da história; é mais uma expiação entre vítimas e homicidas, antes que passado fique no passado. Fora a importância do documentário, sua coragem e honestidade moral, há ainda a qualidade técnica da sua realização. As imagens são contemplativas, sucintas: choque atrás de choque,e sua câmera olha no olho das pessoas. Está sendo entendido como algo menor do que o primeiro, porque, convenhamos, "The Act of killing" é magistral, mas, esse aqui chega a ser mais honesto, mais sincero e mais direto. Até Amy Winehouse votaria em "The Look of Silence".

"Ex Machina" Um dos melhores filmes do ano, que eu relutei muito em ver, e que me deixou surpreso e muito bem impressionado. Tem a mesma tristeza doce de "Never let me Go", cujo roteiro o diretor Alex Garlan assinou, mas aplicada a um contexto de um drama sci-fi. Que trilha e que trabalho de mixagem de som! Design de Produção lindo, elegante, contemporâneo, frio e arrogante, assinado por pessoas muito competentes que nunca são indicadas. Os efeitos especiais são maravilhosos e não tem nenhuma nave espacial por aqui e nenhum planeta distante. São efeitos especiais sutis, pertinentes, e até mesmo incompletos , "vazados", poéticos - Santo Oscar! - que seus executores sejam indicados, please. Nota negativa: não aguento mais divisão em capítulos. Lars Von Trier e Wes Anderson deram impulso a essa verdadeira característica-mania de filmes indies. Los Angeles cantou a bola primeiro e Washington repetiu hoje: sim, Academia, indicar Alicia Vikander por "Ex Machina" e não por "The Danish Girl"!!! Que atuação maravilhosa, sexy, triste, não caricatural - um arraso! Além de tudo, evita-se uma campanha fraudulenta para Atriz Coajuvante. O filme também fez a limpa com justiça no prêmio de cinema independente do Reino Unido. Coincidentemente, estou lendo teatro grego, e fiquei admirado de ver "Prometeu Acorrentado", do Ésquilo, ser recitado de maneira tão pertinente, pelo personagem bêbado do Oscar Isaac. Até mesmo a expressão "ex machina", título do filme, vem do teatro grego, e designa o recurso cenográfico que também se faz presente em "Prometeu Acorrentado". Quem diria, a peça escrita V séc. a.C tem aqui, em 2015 d.C, um primo equivalente e bonito. Show!

Um dia excelente para: "Spotlight", "Mad Max: Fury Road", "Son of Saul", Kristen Stewart, Charlotte Rampling , Saoirse Ronan, John Seale, Mark Rylance, Paul Dano, "Amy". Um dia ruim para: Johnny Depp, "Joy", "Youth", Jane Fonda, Inárritu, Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Lawrence, Tarantino, "The Hateful 8", "The Danish Girl", "The Martian", "Room". Sobre Los Angeles: Ao longo de 5 horas de debates, os 43 votantes escolheram os melhores filmes do ano. A tradição continua e uma atriz estrangeira é nomeada de novo assumindo de vez a quinta vaga de Atriz: Charlotte Rampling (O que é essa mulher em "Swimming Pool"? Fantástica!). Não esperava a vitória de Fassbender, porque o filme estava praticamente morto, e principalmente porque ele não está fazendo campanha e já não o fez em "12 Years a Slave". LeoDicaprio ficou em terceiro lugar. Alicia Vikander ganhar pelo filme que ninguém esperava foi muito interessante. Com esta vitória, George Miller será indicado, hands down. Lubezki não ganharia pela quarta vez seguida aqui. Eu lamento não haver prêmio para Figurino. Nem toda vitória de atuação em Los Angeles significa muito em termos de Oscar, então não acredito em maiores repercussões com relação a Michael Shannon. Tom Hardy venceu recentemente Los Angeles, e passou em brancas nuvens o restante da temporada. Somente "Schindler`s list", "The Hurt Locker", e "Unforgiven", desde os anos 1990, ganharam Los Angeles e também Melhor Filme.O dado é da Sasha Stone. "Room" ficou menor, de repente. O maior vitorioso por enquanto é o Festival de Telluride! "Sicário" R.I.P. Escrevi aqui que gostei de "The Martian", mas não o indicaria a nada. Os críticos de Nova York, Los Angeles, e Boston, parecem pensar parecido. O NBR o premiou em Ator e Direção. O primeiro prêmio é sempre o primeiro a errar. Vamos ver o que dizem os críticos. Só que dessa vez os críticos estrangeiros. Anúncio dos Golden Globes dia 10 de dezembro. Um dever de todo crítico de arte é não deixar que a excelência seja esquecida. Tivemos bons exemplos disso hoje.
