  1. Pra entender a polêmica, vi hoje o Especial de Natal do Porta dos Fundos, "A Primeira Tentação de Cristo". Achei fraco, na verdade. O do ano passado, que ganhou o Emmy Internacional, é mil vezes melhor, mil vezes mais engraçado. Aquele eu adorei. Esse...sei lá. Dito isso, é importantíssimo que o humor possa ser sobre tudo. Não à toa a comédia só nasce na Grécia Antiga depois de inventada a Democracia (mesmo naquela acepção apequenada de quase "reunião de condomínio").

  3. "Persépolis" é a autobiografia em quadrinhos da iraniana - indicada ao Oscar! Primeira mulher indicada em Animação! - Marjane Satrapi. São as lembranças dela da Revolução Xiita de 1979, e da enorme mudança cultural no país dali por diante. Uma obra que opõe extremismo religioso e feminismo; lirismo e política. Um estouro de vendas na França em 2007, que depois virou aquele belo filme.
  4. Gostei bastante de "The Farewell", principalmente do segundo terço em diante. Muito mais melancólico do que engraçado, o roteiro de Lulu Wang me chamou muito a atenção pela inteligência com que aborda o trânsito entre culturas, americana e chinesa, ou como aborda a disputa econômica entre os dois países, sendo a China, agora, a terra do dinheiro, onde se pode fazer 1 milhão de dólares mais fácil. Awkwafina está muito bem ( Não a indicaria ao Oscar, contudo), sim, embora a personagem dela se encontre imobilizada pelas circunstâncias, servindo quase como uma escada luxuosa para a avózinha cheia de vida, alegria, e ternura, da encantadora Shuzhen Zhao - de resto uma das melhores personagens do ano. Linda atuação. Ficarei muito feliz se ela for indicada como Melhor Coadjuvante. Um filme simples, eficiente, simpático, uma agradável experiência.

  13. Como podem imaginar, estou encantado com a indicação de "Parasita" em Elenco, segundo caso de filme estrangeiro indicado depois de "A Vida é Bela". Song Kang-Ho tem tudo pra entrar no Oscar, agora. "Marriage Story" não entrou em Elenco, mas assim como "Green Book" e "The Shape Of Water", tem possibilidade sim de levar Melhor Filme. A antiga regra da necessidade do SAG em Elenco foi quebrada. "Harriet" é um sucesso de bilheteria; os analistas brasileiros costumam esquecer. "Little Women" e "The Lighthouse" muito mal nessas premiações predecessoras. Mas ainda tenho o último em Fotografia. É linda demais para ser ignorada.
