In 1978's Superman: The Movie, its sequels and in the 1990s television series Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Metropolis is shown as being in (or taking the place of) New York. New Troy is separated from the suburban boroughs by the West River and Hobb's River. Jimmy Olsen lives in the borough of Bakerline. There is also a economically depressed area in northwestern New Troy called Suicide Slum, best known for the 1940s adventures of the Guardian and his street urchin companions, the Newsboy Legion. A statue of Superman can be found in Metropolis' largest park--Centennial Park. Other major media located in Metropolis include WGBS-TV, flagship station of the Galaxy Broadcasting System (GBS) television network, both subsidiaries of media conglomerate Galaxy Communications. Popular shows included The Midnight Show Starring Johnny Nevada (a fictional version of NBC's The Tonight Show, with Johnny Nevada being an analogue of Johnny Carson). During the 1970s, both Clark Kent and Lois Lane worked for WGBS (after Galaxy Communications purchased the Daily Planet in a 1971 storyline), with Clark as the anchorman for the WGBS evening news (he was eventually joined by Lana Lang as a co-anchor). After John Byrne's revamp of Superman's origins, though, Clark and Lois were reverted to working at the Daily Planet once again. In the Silver Age comics, another major Metropolis landmark was the Superman Museum, which featured various exhibits dedicated to Metropolis' favorite superhero. The central branch of S.T.A.R. Labs, a major scientific research institution, is located in Metropolis. Metropolis' police department also possesses a special crimes unit dedicated to defending the city against superhuman menaces in case Superman is absent. The unit is headed by Maggie Sawyer and Dan Turpin, with both maintaining frequent contact with the Man of Steel. Another of Superman's police contacts over the years has been Inspector William Henderson, who in the current comics is the Metropolis police commissioner.

é verdade. Tudo faz muito sentido pensando dessa forma. Depois disso, estou até aceitando melhor o filho de Lois Lane.

desde que apareceu o Dr. Swann (Reeve) pela primeira vez, ele sabendo demais sobre os símbolos kryptonianos e tudo mais, achei que ao final da série seria revelado que Dr. Swan é, em Smallville, o Clark do futuro, com a paralisia resultado de um acidente em um momento pós ausência prolongada de sol amarelo ou pós kryptonita. Swann tentaria, portanto, salvar a si mesmo, evitando a paralisia futura. Uma motivação dele como exemplo: a falta do Superman na época seguinte ao acidente seria fatal para o destino do planeta. Se realmente essa era a idéia, foi para o gaveta após a morte de Reeve.

boa. Na origem não tem isso, mas é aquela coisa né... Smallville terá que assumir as consequências das alterações que faz, na própria série, claro. Mas tem outra... a criação da minisérie "O legado das estrelas" é uma prova de que Smallville já obrigou de alguma forma os quadrinhos a se remoldarem. Espero que fique só nisso

por falar nisso, essa relação mega amigável do Superman com o governo às vezes dá nos nervos...

gostaria de saber a teoria de alguns sobre como explicariam na série, se fossem os produtores/roteiristas o fato de Lois não reconhecer o Clark depois como Superman.

desde o primeiro episódio da série tava meio que anunciando que, se alguém fosse morrer seria a Chloe. Afinal, ela não faz parte da carreira adulta de Clark Kent, tá sempre se decepcionando, é repórter e do tipo "dá um parente pela matéria". É morte. Lembrando: Nos quadrinhos atuais (tirando os acontecimentos das últimas edições de Superman pela Panini), Lana Lang é segunda-dama estadunidense, ou seja, esposa de... Pete Ross.

Alan e Peter Riche e o roteirista Ben Grant queriam fazer da história uma comédia - "como ele é um personagem estúpido, vamos aproveitar isso no filme" ?? estúpido ??

Com certeza a Fortaleza será no Polo Norte, Superman Returns tem como base os dois primeiros filmes. Bom, na série tinha que ser no Polo Norte mesmo, senão como é que o Clark iria voltar de lá? No gelo não tem as cavernas.....e como ele não voa ainda.... pois é, arrumaram um cristal "fazedor" de tubo de explosão.
