  4. Lembrando que "The Shape of Water" também não foi indicado a Elenco. Tipo, não é o fim do mundo. Não machuca "Roma", por exemplo, pois acredito que a Yalitza Aparício, uma não-profissional, não esteja sindicalizada obviamente, portanto nem seria indicada. Mas é uma péssima notícia para "If Beale Stret Could Talk", pois "Vice" e "Mary Poppins" foram lançados mais recentemente do que aquele. Únicos atores que ganharam Oscar sem estarem no SAG foram Christoph Waltz (que levou o Globo de Ouro), e Marcia Gay Harden. As melhores notícias do dia foram, com certeza, para "Black Panther", Spike Lee, e Amy Adams.
  5. Mesmo após a chocante ausência da Regina King na lista, penso que ela estará dentro das 5 indicadas no Oscar. E continuo achando que Ethan Hawke estará em Ator, a despeito da concorrência duríssima. Fico exasperado com a lista de Melhor Elenco do SAG todos os anos. O que os atores têm na cabeça? É que nem os laterais-esquerdos do futebol brasileiro que não sabem quem foi Nílton Santos. É um desconhecimento brutal da própria profissão. "The Favorite" fora de Elenco, assim como "Vice". Chocante. Claire Foy, fora. Sam Elliott dentro. Quando a Amy Adams ficou criminosamente fora por "Arrival", eu escrevi no Fórum que a próxima vez que ela fosse indicada, ela ganharia, independente do quilate da atuação. A última vez que uma Atriz Coadjuvante venceu o Oscar, sem estar no SAG na categoria ( foi indicada em lead), foi Jennifer Connelly, por "Uma Mente Brilhante"; e sem estar indicada no SAG, seja onde for, Marcia Gay Harden.

  10. Ok, estou de acordo, é o menos bom dos filmes do Nury Bilge Ceylan, mas, mesmo assim, é muito acima da média. Seus 180 minutos, que, dessa vez, cansaram Cannes, têm como centro - segundo penso - uma crise de masculinidade. O cinema tem se dedicado muito ao chamado "empoderamento feminino", mas o que tem acontecido também é a debilidade dos homens. Os personagens masculinos aqui são todos presunçosos, arrogantes, inúteis, viciados, deprimidos, intelectuais de bar pequeno, incapazes de dar amor, e também - vale ressaltar - incapazes de serem amados já que não têm atrativos materiais (pois falta emprego, não há grana, andam a pé...). Escrito por ele e sua esposa, é um filme palavroso, um novelo de diálogos. Fico pensando quantas páginas têm os roteiros dos filmes deles....3 mil, 4 mil? É o candidato da Turquia ao Oscar, país que nunca conseguiu a vaga. Quinta vez que tentam emplacar o próprio Ceylan. Se o magnífico, espetacular, lindíssimo, Palma de Ouro, "Sono de Inverno", com iguais 180 minutos, não conseguiu, este acho ainda mais difícil.

Parabéns ao diretor e roteirista Marcelo Martinessi, principalmente pela abordagem sutil do amor lésbico na terceira idade, notadamente pela percepção de que as outras mulheres hétero, de igual idade, evitam de todo modo a falar e tocar no assunto com aqueles pares, mesmo sendo-lhes amigas há muito tempo. Noto isso constantemente. A competição entre os Filmes Estrangeiros está maravilhosa. "Roma" é o favorito, claro, mas Polônia, Japão, Colômbia, Alemanha, Coreia do Sul, e, esse filme do Paraguai, têm muita chance de completar a categoria (O Brasil? O Brasil não...) Amei!
