  11. Terminei de ler o livro e fui ver a versão mais famosa, de 1967, com o americano John Gavin, no papel-título. É um bom trabalho de adaptação, ainda que da expressão "Realismo Fantástico" tenha se concentrado apenas no primeiro termo. Serviu para clarificar as bases fundamentais da história, "embrulhou para presente", como costumo dizer, ou seja, facilitou a vida do espectador, dado que o livro é extremamente fragmentado, com saltos temporais, e cheio de vozes que não se sabem de quem são ou como foram parar ali. Vêm do além. Creio que quando adaptam textos fragmentados, um diretor e um montador devem se concentrar na qualidade dos raccords, pois senão os cortes ficam muito abruptos, como infelizmente acontecem nessa produção. Todos nós latino-americanos, como escreveu Juan Raulfo, "todos somos filhos de Pedro Páramo".

  18. O tema é ótimo, mas a direção desse doc, de 2016, reúne tudo que eu o não gosto em documentários: tratamento estético demasiado, dramatizações, intervenções de todo tipo... Lembrei-me de uma frase do escritor Juan Rulfo a respeito de literatura, mas creio que se aplica ao cinema documentário também: "Em Literatura pode-se mentir; o que não se pode é falsificar."

  20. Provando que hipster é hipster em todo lugar, esse filme peruano em parceria com a Netflix é cheio de clichês em torno de um grupamento social que tem horror a esse termo. Mas o talento gigante da atriz principal, Gisela Ponce de León, eleva essa produção, tornando-o um ótimo programa para aquelas madrugadas vazias, sem alguém ao lado. Diversão pura. No fundo, o filme aponta para um anticolonialismo, um descolamento da Espanha: o Peru, hoje, é um bom país para ser feliz.

A categoria que mais importa, a meu ver, é Direção. "Roma" não é elegível para a categoria de Drama no Globo de Ouro, pois - julgo eu - Netflix é tratada como tevê , e eles têm uma divisão por tevê. Mas, entretanto, eu soube que os atores poderiam disputar (no caso, Yalitza Aparicío). É meio contraditório isso. "A Star is Born" e "Bohemian Rhapsody" foram indicados pelos estúdios como contendores em Drama, e não Musicais. Mesmo assim a concorrência na parte de Comédia/Musical continua forte com "The Favourite", "Vice', "Crazy Rich Asians", "Mary Poppins Returns", etc. "A Star is Born" parece ser o favorito de uma premiação que precisa e gosta de estrelas vencendo. Emily Blunt, mesmo grávida, em intensa campanha pelo filme (leia-se: por sua primeira indicação).
