Filme slasher de 1984 vai ganhar uma sequel:

‘The Mutilator’: Buddy Cooper Returning to Direct a Sequel to His 1984 Slasher Movie!

All these years later, believe it or not, the 1984 slasher movie The Mutilator is getting an official sequel, with The Mutilator 2 first announced by Mad Monster Party this week.

Buddy Cooper is returning to write and direct the decades-later sequel!

Terry Kiser (Friday The 13th Part VII, Weekend At Bernies) and Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey At Night, Haunt) will star, alongside Ruth Martinez and Bill Hitchcock from the original.

Alexander Taylor (Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street, Isolation, Paramount Plus’s Unknown Dimension: The Story Of Paranormal Activity, Arkansas, Eli Roth & Jason Blum’s Crypt TV) has signed on to score the upcoming sequel, Bloody Disgusting has learned.

Taylor said in a statement, “I’m so honored and excited to be a part of The Mutilator franchise. One of the best parts of this is the fact that Buddy Cooper is back! It’s rare for a legacy film to have the original writer and director come back, so you know this is going to be special. Buddy and I already have some cool themes and wild ideas for the score.”

Filme original era sobre um menino que sem querer mata a mãe com a arma do pai (ele tava tentando limpar, e atirou sem querer). O pai, anos mais tarde, quando filho já é adolescente, resolve mata-lo e seus amigos também (sem maiores motivos) que estão passando um fds na casa de praia dele.

 

Sei lá, mas o filme original é MUITO B, MUITO TRASH, daí não funcionou pra mim. Precariamente feito, então nem sei se tinha uma ideia ali que poderia funcionar de alguma forma porque nada ali é minimamente bem feito pra se ter impressão de qualquer coisa. Enfim, detestei e fim. Mas filme virou meio cult entre alguns fãs, o que se justifica essa sequel (acho).

Nem sei se esse filme vai prestar em algum nível, porque creio que vai ser algo que vai muito se auto zoar, tirar sarro de tudo o que foi feito, com um tom de comédia bem alto, e nem sei se dá pra fazer diferente disso, porque quem levaria a sério o filme original? Os fãs que tem, tem pelo fato de poderem zoar do filme, porque tudo lá é meio ridículo mesmo. Mas um ridículo não intencional. Saiu assim por falta de dinheiro, falta de ideias, falta de tudo. Mas agora o ridículo vai ser feito de propósito. Conscientemente. Mesmo sendo feito pelo diretor do original, não sei nem se ele vai querer fazer algo que "respeite" o filme original. Deve zoar tudo ali, que é algo que os fãs vão querer que ele faça: 'Zoe da sua obra, cara, que nem a gente faz!'. 

Tenho curiosidade em ver essa sequel, mas bem provável que vai ser bem ruim. Previsão que eu deteste, como detesto o original. Mas vou aguardar. Talvez me surpreenda... (Será?)
