Será que Jarhead ainda tem chances em fotografia (Roger Deakins) e montagem (Walter Murch) ? Memórias De Uma Gueixa tem muitas chances nas categorias técnicas como figurino , direção de arte ,fotografia , mas estou com dúvidas quanto as principais . As chances de Munich aumentaram . Com certeza! Na verdade , a maioria dos melhores acaba não tendo chances .Já comentei em outro tópico que teve um ano em que os melhores não foram indicados , na minha opinião. Ontem, na estreia, o filme conseguiu 10 milhões e meio, ficando apenas 300 mil dolares atrás de Chicken little (que está na primeira posição). Vamos ver se a bilhetria do filme se mantem. Sei lá, pelo tema e por ser dirigido pelo Spielberg não confio muito, não. E, após ver Marcas da Violência, estou realmente pensando em mudar as minhas previsões em Diretor para colocar na lista David Cronenberg. Seu trabalho é excelente, será uma grande injustiça se não for indicado. E eu vi o trailer de Novo Mundo no cinema. Parece que vai ser muito bom, tenho plena confiança no trabalho de Mallick, e a Q'Orianka Kilcher parece ter um papel principal. "It is a movie that walks up to some of the most urgent and painful issues of our present circumstance, clears its throat loudly and, with occasional flourishes of impressive rhetoric, says nothing," writes A.O. Scott in the New York Times. Rick Groen in the Toronto Globe and Mail puts it this way: "The result is a war picture that, trying to pass off fidelity to the book as objectivity, sacrifices any voice of its own, and ends up not knowing what to think." Nevertheless, Jake Gyllenhaal is receiving much praise for his performance as a Marine looking for action in the war but getting little. Stephen Hunter writes in the Washington Post: "What's so good about the movie is Gyllenhaal's refusal to show off; he doesn't seem jealous of the camera's attention when it goes to others and is content, for long stretches, to serve simply as a prism though which other young men can be observed." Philip Wuntch in the Dallas Morning News takes particular notice of Gyllenhaal's "minimalist yet riveting performance." Steven Rea comments in the Philadelphia Inquirer: "Gyllenhaal is having quite a year, with a key role in the under-appreciated Proof and a brilliant turn opposite Heath Ledger in the forthcoming (and heartbreaking) Brokeback Mountain. O filme está com 100% no RT, um buzz incrível, vários Ads. tem que acontecer um milagre pra esse filme não ser indicado. E a categoria de atriz está muito fraca, eu acho que a Reese leva. I thought I’d take the opportunity this weekend to throw a few up. Let’s start at the top. BEST PICTURE 01. Munich 02. Memoirs of a Geisha 03. Walk the Line 04. Brokeback Mountain 05. Cinderella Man 06. Crash 07. Good Night, and Good Luck. 08. Mrs. Henderson Presents 09. The Producers 10. The New World Munich finally has a trailer and poster stirring the mix, and so far, nothing has deterred its infamous “frontrunner” position. Memoirs of a Geisha, Walk the Line and Cinderella Man all have those Academy-friendly elements that can easily place them in the hunt. But as it may be a stretch to find every component of this trio landed nominations. Meanwhile, Crash still has that contingency out here in La-La land that are simply in love with it, giving it, likely, plenty of #1 placements on voter ballots. Good Night, and Good Luck. has to be seen as a critical frontrunner outside of Brokeback Mountain, while Mrs. Henderson Presents and The Producers both share the demographic those last few slots will secure. Both film, however, may prove too empty for the emotion feeding Academy. Finally, The New World is still the unknown quantity that could simply fall either way. BEST ACTOR 01. Philip Seymour Hoffman – Capote 02. Joaquin Phoenix – Walk the Line 03. Eric Bana – Munich 04. Heath Ledger – Brokeback Mountain 05. Russell Crowe – Cinderella Man 06. Johnny Depp – The Libertine 07. Nathan Lane – The Producers 08. David Strathairn – Good Night, and Good Luck. 09. Cillian Murphy – Breakfast on Pluto 10. George Clooney – Syriana The two “locks” if you will have to be Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix, with the former our likely winner given the proximity of Phoenix and Jamie Foxx. Eric Bana looks phenomenal in his film’s fresh new trailer. The other critics’ choice would be Heath Ledger at this point and Russell Crowe secures a spot he could still retain without a Best Picture nomination in the mix. Meanwhile, Johnny Depp puts on perhaps his greatest show to date in another dreadful Weinstein Company film, while Nathan Lane gets the funniest role of the contenders to play with. We round it out with three potential critcal faves. David Strathairn is commanding in the iconic persona of Edward R. Murrow, and Cillian Murphy, in the middle of a breakout year, is absolutely wonderful in a film that is both delightful and wholly interesting. All the while, George Clooney hopes the 40 pounds he gained and the back surgery he suffered through for his role in an ensemble piece pay off. BEST ACTRESS 01. Judi Dench – Mrs. Henderson Presents 02. Reese Witherspoon – Walk the Line 03. Charlize Theron – North Country 04. Zhang Ziyi – Memoirs of a Geisha 05. Felicity Huffman – Tranasmerica 06. Gwyneth Paltrow – Proof 07. Joan Allen – The Upside of Anger 08. Q’Orianka Kilcher – The New World 09. Renee Zellweger – Cinderella Man 10. Keira Knightly – Pride and Prejudice What a terribly weak cateogory. Diane Keaton took a step back to supporting, lightening the load even more, so while Judi Dench and Reese Witherspoon are still our locks, Charlize Theron clings to hope that the box office receipts of her film don’t prove disastrous. Zhang Ziyi fronts a likely nominee across the board, while Felicity Huffman struggles in the worst film of the year – but given the nature of the role, one can only expect Weinstein magic. Gwyneth Paltrow has a fighting chance as long as members see her film, while Joan Allen hopes members simply remember hers. Q’Orianka Kilcher is a true wild card, Renee Zellweger hopes to fraud her category all the way to a notice and Keira Knightly hopes to join Dench as another comedic entry. More charts tomorrow!
