The Wicker Man SteelBook Coming Up

      StudioCanal has revealed that it plans to release on Blu-ray Robin Hardy's classic film The Wicker Man (1973), starring Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee, and Diane Cilento. According to early reports, in addition to the standard Blu-ray release a Limited Edition SteelBook will also be available for purchase exclusively through UK retailer Zavvi. 
Technical specs and supplemental features to be included with this upcoming release are yet to be revealed, but the preliminary release date set by StudioCanal is October 14th.
 
Cult horror classic in which a devout Christian policeman (Woodward) is summoned to a remote Scottish island to investigate the disappearance of a child. While there he uncovers a bizarre pagan cult, led by Lord Summerisle (Lee). As preparations for a sinister ritual celebration reach fever pitch, the policeman begins to realise what role the islanders intend him to play. Britt Ekland and Ingrid Pitt co-star.

Na boa, acho que daria fácil para fazer Prometheus 2 (com outro título, claro) resolvendo o arco do primeiro filme e ainda linkando com o "início" (ou a origem do sinal) do Alien de 79. Além disso, utilizando uma boa premissa sci-fi, daria para aproveitar alguma coisa para um Alien 5, enquanto a Weaver ainda tem pique.
 
Mas trilogia Prometheus? Com os 400 milhões que o filme arrecadou? E ainda por cima Rated R?
 
Gosto de pensar que seria um bom executivo de Hollywood ( ) e, nesse caso, aprovaria mais um filme PG-13, com mesmo orçamento para o filme e para o marketing (os declarados 130 milhões + alguns de publicidade). É uma saída viável para concluir o que foi iniciado e recuperar os gastos. Ah, e apostar no marketing inteligente do primeiro filme é outra boa saída. Pelo jeito o retorno do filme foi difícil pela censura (que daria para ser PG-13 sem problema NENHUM, sem ter que cortar nada do filme, exceto que os reaças da MPAA não gostam de gotinhas de sangue) e pelo boca a boca do povinho que esperava um novo Avatar, ou sabe-se lá o que.

Um filme de ataque à Casa Branca por terroristas, que nem o recém-lançado OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN.
 
 

Já tem as primeiras reações ao "August: Osange County", que teve uma exibição teste há alguns dias. Ou seja, não é a versão final do filme.

IOweUrl- It was incredible. Every actor killed it. It did such a great job of moving between humor and drama, I can’t even. And Benedict was so amazing and adorable I melted into a puddle and almost fell out of my chair multiple times. HE SINGS. SINGS. SINGS. And is 100% adorable in his short amount of screen time. It still had some editing to do, just some cleaning up, and one of the bulbs in the project went out and we had to wait 20 minutes to resume the film, but it was free and amazing and I really really can’t wait to see it again!!
 
 
‏@mks373 - Also If Julia Roberts is nominated in the best supporting category, she too will take home another Oscar!  Otherwise Margo Martindale will win Best Supporting actress.

Acho que injustiça, diga-se de passagem, foi a Academia não a ter indicado por Bem-Amada, isso sim.

Concordo, ela estava ótima. 

Que pena, achei O Som ao redor muito bom. Não sei muita coisa da produção nacional também, mas sei que tem Faroeste Caboclo e O Tempo e o Vento ainda esse ano. Só espero que escolham alguma coisa que tenha o perfil da academia americana, pelo menos para uma indicação. O cinema brasileiro está esquecido no exterior desde que Cidade de Deus supreendeu a todos em 2002/2003. Claro que tivemos grandes filmes depois disso, mas a nível internacional, pelo menos desde 2006 (O Ano em que meus pais saíram de férias) estamos na merda.
