This is Memflix giving you a look at another sequel coming out this

summer. To be quite honest, I am looking forward to writing a review

for a flick without a number or a colon in the title.

 

 

 

    Anyway, here it is.

 

 

 

    As difficult as it was, I decided to view ‘Fantastic

Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer’ as a film, not as a chance for

redeeming a franchise. I thought this method might take away any fanboy

predilections I had, in anticipation of this second installment to ‘The

Fantastic Four’ universe. So, for a moment let’s forget that the first

film was without artistic merit. Let’s forget that the story about a

family of superheroes is arguably the most adored of all comic book

properties.

 

 

 

    ‘Rise of the Silver Surfer’, opens with a planet

light-years away, being obliterated. After the opening credits, we are

on Earth getting ready for Sue Storm and Reed Richards to tie the knot.

During the preparation, the scientist instead of concentrating on the

details of his impending nuptials is busy studying a cosmic anomaly. We

soon find out that this cosmic energy is in fact an alien on a

surfboard zooming down to Earth to prepare it for destruction. These

two storylines are the principle actions guiding the story. There are

two other subplots. One is in regards to Dr. Doom being ‘resurrected,’

while the other involves Johnny Storm’s selfish nature endangering his

family.

 

 

 

    Four plots that should make an epic film span a

terribly short running time of 1 hour and 30 minutes. Did it work? Did

they abandon the goofy nature of the first film and reinvigorate the

franchise with an epic story about the fate of the entire planet. No on

both counts. The humor is entirely aimed at children (which goes along

with its PG rating.) ‘Thing’ is played for laughs without any degree of

intensity. Johnny Storm’s crisis of conscience robs all of the charisma

established in the first (even if it wasn’t much.) Sue Storm is more of

a nag than an asset to the team. In addition, there is nothing to

signify Reed Richards as the leader to a powerful team of superheroes.

He comes off as a self-esteem deprived, blowhard jackass. There isn’t

one iota of chemistry between any of the characters. The wretched

family dynamics are trumped only by Dr. Doom, who can only be described

as the worst villain to ever grace the screen. Julian McMahon’s

portrayal of Victor Von Doom seems barely suited for a Sci-Fi cable

channel movie, let alone a mega-budget studio film (not that they

always choose the best talent, but come on!).

 

 

 

    For a story such as this, the amount of

claustrophobia throughout, borders on pure agony. It lacks anything

even resembling ‘scope of vision.’ The only audience ‘Rise of the

Silver Surfer’ is suited for is children between the ages of 5 &

10. Anyone over that age looking for an entertaining piece of escapism

will run into a wall of condescension.

 

 

 

    Now, let’s look at it with comic-book eyes. As most

may know, The Silver Surfer works for a planet-devouring villain,

Galactus. The Surfer scouts out planets, using his board as a cosmic

beacon for Galactus to follow. There is no definition, no rules; they

just make them up as they go along. There is no Watcher, so we are told

about Galactus through an unbearably cheesy heart-to-heart with Sue and

The Surfer. There isn’t a shred of genuine impending doom because they

never establish what Galactus really is (in the press kit, under

character description, it should just read-big damn tornado).

 

 

 

    The director Tim Story and his band of screenwriters

have once again broken the hearts of FF fans all over. They have no

respect. They have no understanding on what makes the ‘Fantastic Four’

story work, or any story for that matter. I gave Tim Story a break the

first time around, but not this time. He should’ve looked back at the

first one, compared it to the comic book films that work and just said,

“Damn! I gotta sit this one out before I do it all over again!”

However, he didn’t do that. He looked at the numbers from the first one

and assumed that money always equals success. Now as for the

screenwriters; give them a Cartoon Network show and let them have at

it. If they have any talent, it could be realized there.

 

 

 

    However, FF2 wasn’t a total failure. The Surfer is

phenomenal (with the exception being Lawrence Fishburne’s distracting

voice). His entire body seemed to be in constant motion. I was

mesmerized for every moment he was on screen. The special effects team

did an outstanding job. However, what is perplexing about the look of

the Surfer is what it did to the other special effects. Reed’s ability

to stretch looked even more unnatural than in the first. Sue’s shield,

Johnny’s fire, everything else was sidelined. It was as if the team

only concentrated on The Surfer.

 

 

 

    I have been teetering on the edge of spoiling the

end. I won’t, but damn I want to. Any self-respecting Silver Surfer fan

would scream! It is horrible. It makes no sense and it will enrage fans

even more than Alba being cast as Sue Storm. I will only say

this-Hollywood Cop Out.

 

 

 

    No doubt, this movie will make money. I was shocked

by the public’s positive reaction to the first film. Audiences will be

so dazzled by the effects that they will forget that they are watching

a terrible movie.

 

 

 

    I knew in my heart it would happen, but I had hoped

our optimistic nature would pay off. I was wrong. I won’t make that

mistake again, no matter what the ‘Fantastic Four’ future may hold.

 

 

 

    ‘Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer’ is a

disrespectful, sleight of hand circus show devoid of any elements that

make a movie a movie.

Eu pensei que esse método faria com que eu evitasse qualquer pré-disposição fãzóide que eu tenha, mas antecipo que esta é a segunda participação que eu tenho no universo do "Quarteto Fantástico". Sendo assim, por um momento esqueça que o primeiro filme não tem nenhum mérito artístico. Esqueça a história sobre uma família de super heróis é uma das mais adoradas HQ´s de todas.

3) Quatro histórias que podem fazer um filme épico parecer um terríviel curta de 1 hora e meia. Funcionou ? Eles abandonaram a natureza infantil do primeiro filme e revigoraram a franquia com uma história épica sobre a fé em todo o mundo. O "Coisa" foi feito pra dar risadas em qualquer intensidade, "Tocha Humana" enfrenta uma crise de identidade que rouba o seu carisma estabelecido no primeiro filme ( que não era muito ). Sue Storm está mais dentro do time. Porém somando a isso, não há nada que represente o porquê de Reed Richards seja o poderoso líder dos super-heróis já que não há nenhuma química entre ele e os demais membros da equipe. A dinâmica familiar só é rompida por Dr. Doom, que pode ser descrito como o pior vilão já visto no cinema. Julian McMahon transforma-o em um personagem recém-saído de uma série de ficção científica da TV, um mero apetrecho no cenário de um filme.

Eles não fizeram uma história de "O Quarteto Fantástico", eles fizeram do jeito que quiseram. Eu poupei Tim Story no primeiro filme, mas dessa vez não dá. Dêem a ele um show no Cartoon, pois se ele tem algum talento, ele pode se realizar lá.

6) De qualquer forma, "O Quarteto Fantástico e o Surfista Prateado" não é totalmente ruim. O Surfista é fenomenal ( com exceção da distação com a voz de Lawrence Fishburne ). O seu corpo está em constante movimento. A equipe de efeitos especiais fizeram um bom trabalho, mas a sensação que dá que eles só se preocuparam o Surfista, pois os outros efeitos com o Quarteto continuam pouco naturais.

Aí ele fala que tem uma coisa no final que vai deixar os fãs irritados, que acredita que o filme fará dinheiro, mas que é uma droga ...
  
    ‘Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer’ is a disrespectful, sleight of hand circus show devoid of any elements that make a movie a movie.

 

"O Quarteto Fantástico e o Surfista Prateado" é desrespeitoso, um circo, um show com elementos relaxados que fazem de um filme um filme.

Eu revi o primeiro no sábado, é legalzinho, bobinho ás vezes, o Reed é o ponto fraco não convence como líder...mas o filme diverte, pro 2° espero com espectativa o Surfista, estão todos elogiando-o. De resto, espero mais do mesmo...o efeitos pelo menos parecem que vão ser bons....

to LA Times, 20th Century Fox has already put a spin-off into

development for "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" movie. The

film will concentrate on the Silver Surfer and J. Michael Straczynski

is currently crafting the screenplay.

 

The original "Fantastic

Four" film was one of the worst superhero movies, mostly due to the

cheesy dialog and a poor storyline. The sequel is not looking much

better with its PG rating, so it's time for a change. The studio is now

hoping to take the Surfer franchise in a darker direction to attract

the slightly older demographic of its "X-Men" films. Signing

Straczynski is now looking like the appropriate choice.

 

A

longtime writer of television science fiction on "The Twilight Zone"

and "Babylon 5," Straczynski has also spent much of the last few years

writing for Marvel Comics on properties like "Amazing Spider-Man" and

"Thor." Straczynski recently penned 15 issues of Fantastic Four for

Marvel, and the first issue of his "Silver Surfer: Requiem" series just

published last month, with three more in the works.

QUARTETO FANTÁSTICO - VERSÃO ESTENDIDA COM 20 MINUTOS EXTRAS

 

 

 

totalmente incompreensível a marvel não lançar

nos cinemas as versões estendidas de seus filmes, em vez das picotadas

sem história...

 

 

 

 

acabo de assistir a versão estendida do Quarteto 1 e é

impressionante como o filme melhora com mais tempo extra, aliás, todo o

tempo extra é no desenvolvimento dos personagens, acabando com alguns

furos, incluindo até citações a hqs e a um certo vilão da equipe, eis

elas (não estão necessariamente em ordem cronológica):

 

 

 

 

1 - a abertura foi totalmente modificada. Antes aparecia o título e

já começava o filme, agora temos uma bela apresentação animada, estilão

as dos filmes do HA, já dando uma deixa do que veremos no filme.

 

 

 

 

2 - aparece um pouco mais de Reed e Ben dentro do prédio do Victor

antes de encontrar este, mostrando os projetos da empresa, inclusive

que a mesma tem contratos militares (dae as armas que o Victor rouba no

final de um depósito de sua empresa).

 

 

 

 

3 - aqui uma cena que tava fazendo falta...após o acidente aparecem

todos desacordados caídos no chão dentro da estação espacial, aos

poucos a energia da estação vai se normalizando e eles acordando.

EXPLICA COMO ELES VOLTARAM PRA TERRA, A ENERGIA DA ESTAÇÃO SE

NORMALIZOU.

 

 

 

 

4 - Susan e Victor jantam e rompem a relação. Ele sai p*** porque ela

se refere a pesquisa que está fazendo com reed como "nossa", e sai todo

enciumado, aliás, é aqui que ele nota que reed e Sue estão passando um

bom tempo juntos. Na mesma cena as emoções de Victor se tornam claras

com as oscilações da luz do restaurante, e Susan chega a ficar

invisível.

 

 

 

 

5 - reed e Susan (o casal ganha mais tempo) em um depósito do

edifício baxter, é aqui que reed revela que vai construir uma máquina.

Susan observa uma caixa com seu nome no alto de uma prateleira, ao

tentar pegar a prateleira cai sobre ela, reed se estica e cai sobre

Sue, absorvendo o impacto, e ambos ficam cara a cara. Ben vê de longe

os pombinhos deitados no chão e ae nasce a semente de sua raiva

fermentada pelo victor posteriormente de que Reed não está atrás da

cura porque deseja passar mais tempo com Sue.

 

 

 

 

6 - reed testa os efeitos da máquina numa planta, muito mais

coerente do que ele ser a primeira cobaia, que é o que ocorre na versão

picotada.

 

 

 

 

 

7 - Reed e Sue após o planetário, sim, ele faz a cara de Wolverine pra ela...essa cena tava nas cortadas da versão anterior.

 

 

 

 

 

8 - Ben assiste uma gravação de um de seus aniversário, e fica depressivo.

 

 

 

 

9 - O Quarteto recebe cartas de todos os lugares do mundo, pedindo

ajuda. Sue pega uma carta e mostra pra reed, que no momento a ignora

porque está no meio de uma pesquisa, logo em seguida escutam berros do

Ben P*** da cara porque o Johnny está na tv, no programa de esportes.

 

 

 

 

10 - johnny passa um dia no edifício baxter andando de elevador,

ele aumenta a temperatura dentro do mesmo pras mulheres ficarem,

digamos, mais a vontade.

 

 

 

 

11 - Victor dá carona pra johnny (que sai de uma festa) dentro de

uma limousine, e faz a cabeça dele que ele deve fazer carreira solo,

pois ele é um astro, ao contrário dos outros 3, por essas que ele tem

posteriormente uma discussão com a Sue que vai se virar sozinho, logo

após o ben quebrar o protótipo do seu boneco.

 

 

 

 

12 - Ben passeando pela rua após ter tido o encontro com Victor na

lanchonete (cena das panquecas) passa por uma galeria de arte que exibe

várias esculturas com sua imagem. E aparece Alicia que o convida pra

entrar. Ele diz que está todo sujo, e ela diz que vai ajudá-lo a se

limpar, e o faz numa cena bem tocante, dando-lhe ainda uma lição sobre

ser diferente e alvo de chacota, o que abre os olhos dele pra

possibilidade de continuar como Coisa. Aliás, enquanto ela o limpa, nos

fundos da galeria, ele observa vários BONECOS, e pergunta se é ela que

os fez, o que ela diz que são coisa de seu PADRASTO, que sabemos ser o

Mestre dos Bonecos.

 

 

 

 

13 - Alicia convida Ben para uma festa aonde está expondo suas

esculturas. Na mesma ele, além de ser confundido com uma das

esculturas, ainda vê alícia ser alvo de chacotas por fazer esculturas

com a sua imagem, que ninguém compraria aquilo. Se sentindo ofendido

ele sai bravo, acarretando a briga com o reed na cena seguinte.

 

 

 

 

14 - Após reed testar a máquina sem sucesso, victor manda seu

ajudante buscar Ben, e na versão de cinema a cena seguinte já era Ben

chegando no baxter e perguntando aonde está o reed, o que era uma

furada, porque ele perguntaria sobre o Reed se o encontro era

supostamente com o Victor. Pis na nova versão após a briga com reed e o

victor mandando seu ajudante procurá-lo, bem, está sentado numa praça

claramente triste, ae chega o ajudante do victor e avisa que o reed

deseja falar com ele urgentemente, ae a surpresa de ben ao chegar no

baxter não encontrar o reed, só o victor.

 

 

 

 

15 - johnny, após abandonar o Quarteto = briga com Sue, está numa

festa se exibindo, lançando rajadas de fogo pra cima, etc...o legítmo

centro das atenções. Ae ele vê uma bela garota e chega pra mesma,

contudo esta tem um namorado, que dá um puxão de orelha no johnny que

ele não devia cantar a garota dos outros. Irritado johnny faz a bebida

do cara pegar fogo, numa atitude estúpida. A garota fala pra ele que

ele poderia ter queimado alguém, e que se tivesse os poderes dele faria

algo produtivo com eles, não ficaria se exibindo em bares, ajudaria as

pessoas. Neste momento todos no bar ignoram johnny, ou seja, ocorre bem

o que Sue falou...ele é um modismo, ae o fato dele voltar pro baxter.

 

 

 

 

 

é isso ae, nota-se que as relações humanas do filme foram todas acentuadas, sobretudo ben & Alicia e reed & Sue.

 

 

 

 

particularmente acho a versão de cinema um filme mediano, mas na

versão estendida enquadraria ele como um bom filme...com um roteiro

mais redondinho. gostei muito das cenas do Ben e da Alicia, esta que

merecia mais destaque e aqui ganha espaço.

 

 

 

 

já se você deseja ação, a não ser uma forma que o reed assume no

clímax pra direcionar a água do hidrante pra cima do victor, não vi

nenhuma alteração ou inclusão.

Eu gostei do filme...

 

 

melhor que o primeiro... pra mim está no nível de X-men 3.

 

O filme não se leva a sério, o que não é ruim. Afinal de contas, quer coisa mais constrangedora do que um homem-elástico? quase todas as cenas com ele são estranhas por natureza, não importa se os efeitos são bons ou não.

Sim, no rotten tomatoes, "Fantastic Four 2: The Rise of the Silver Surfer" tem 37% rotten.

 

 

 

Melhor q o primeiro q tem 26% rotten.

 

 

 

Vai ter pré-estréia na sexta, sábado e domingo, mas não irei não pois só verei o filme numa quarta-feira.
