Que maravilha ver um filme do Lesoto, aquele reino dentro do território da África do Sul! E mais contente pelo filme ser bom, e estar muito bem qualificado para adentrar na pré-lista dos candidatos a Melhor Filme Internacional. "Isso não é um enterro, É uma Ressurreição" trata de uma comunidade atingida pela construção de uma barragem. A protagonista é uma senhora de 80 anos, viúva, cujo filho, trabalhador de mina, morre, enquanto ela o espera naquelas terras. Ela fica sem ninguém, e desejosa de morrer também, e ser enterrada entre os seus. Porém, vê-se alarmada, quando corre a notícia de que todos serão removidos, inclusive o cemitério, para a construção da tal barragem. Fará de tudo para não profanarem a sua terra. Não vou mentir, a primeira meira-hora é estranhíssima. Há um narrador, meio folclórico, contando a história, por meio de parábolas. Mas a partir daí o filme engrena. É filmado em razão de aspecto 4:3, dando um ar de fotografia antiga; foca muito o perfil dos personagens; e é dono de uma trilha sonora com - como ser educado? - muita "cor local". O melhor é a atuação da senhorinha, de resistência local, não pelo discurso propriamente, mas pelo exemplo. A cena final é a síntese de tudo isso. Muito corajosa e bonita. Ganhador de muitos prêmios internacionais, o filme conta também com um carinho pela sua origem diversa, contudo, não o vejo ficando entre os 5 melhores da categoria (embora por um tempo estivesse na minha lista de previsões). Gostei demais de "The White Tiger", um filme de claro apelo popular, mas muito bem-feito. É a adaptação de um livro homônimo muito elogiado, muito premiado. Olha, por muito menos, vai ter filme aí indicado a Best Picture. Vou começar com o que eu não gostei, e que vem claramente do livro. O tom, principalmente no começo, de redação de colégio apresentando a Índia do século XX. Toca em mil pontos da vida nacional, desde o Vale do Silício deles, até a industrialização por meio da terceirização de serviços, castas, desconfiança com muçulmanos, rivalidades com a China, problemas de saneamento, corrupção política sob disfarce do título de "maior democracia do mundo", até as dificuldades indianas em ganhar medalhas olímpicas (Pouquíssimas medalhas ao longo da História, mas no Japão isso vai mudar por completo, graças a sua incrível equipe de Tiro). Este tom de painel social nunca convém ser explícito. É melhor ser percebido. Os atores estão ótimos, principalmente o protagonista Adarsh Gourav. O ritmo do filme, montagem, Design, Figurino, ual, adorei tudo. Não é o melhor filme do Ramin Bahrani, porque o magnífico "99 casas" é difícil de superar, mas é o seu segundo melhor filme da carreira. Acho que a canção que fecha o filme, "Jungle Mantra", do rapper indiano Divine e Karan Kanchan, tem chance de ser indicada ao Oscar. É muito boa, muito energética, e envergonha aquelas canções adocicadas costumeiramente indicadas. Vamos abrir a cabeça pra música do mundo. Vamos abrir a cabeça para o papel da India no Mundo.
