This Roland Emmerich directed film will be available to own from the 25th April, and should retail at around $19.94. The disc will carry a digitally remastered widescreen presentation, and English Dolby Digital 5.1 track - along with an additional ten minutes of footage. On top of that, the disc will include all the features (commentary, featurettes etc) from the first retail release of the film. As part of the push, the DVDs and consumer products will have the same logo and look, featuring Ariel and other lead characters from the film. Mattel, CDI, Playmates, Hallmark and other product licensees will launch Little Mermaid toys and other products at stores this summer, with momentum building through to the DVD release. Disney said its partnership between home video and consumer products for Cinderella lifted the franchise to $3 billion in sales in 2005. Cinderella was one of the top-selling discs of the year, with consumer spending topping $100 million. Disney hasn't yet announced details on bonus materials for the two-disc Little Mermaid DVD. Also, looking at Ginger Rogers films from RKO. More Kubrick films besides the four that's been announced. Bridges of Madison County anamorphic release might be next year. Paul Newman collection coming this year with Harper and The Drowing Pool. The Rain People, Rachel, Rachel, Far from a Madding Crowd, Shoot the Moon and Big Hand for the Little Lady this year or next. Risky Business SE for 2008. No more non-anamorphic releases for film with 1.66 OAR. First up Clockwork Orange. Looking at revisiting Little Shop of Horrors, also a SE of Beetlejuice and still talking about Blade Runner. James Cagney and Robert Mitchum boxsets for 2007.
