Eu entendo. Mas eu quis dizer no sentido de parecerem (digo parecerem pois ainda não os vi), filmes que tem tudo para agradar a Academia...bom elenco, diretor, roteiro, produção técnica, além do buzz enorme... Tomara...mas acredito em Jake mais por Jarhead. Michelle Williams é uma boa atriz, suas interpretações em Dawson´s Creek eram boas, eu pelo menos sempre gostei, agora então, ela deve bem mais madura como atriz. Gostaria que Randy Quaid fosse indicado como coadjuvante...ele é um ator muito injustiçado em relação a premiações. Bom mesmo vai ser Filme, Diretor e Roteiro Adaptado. Como ele deve concorrer como ator principal por Jarhead,categoria mais difícil prá ele por causa da concorrência,acho mais razoável a Academia indicá-lo como coadjuvante por BBM.Claro que depende da Focus não fazer uma grande besteira,aí ele tem mais chances,até de ganhar,embora ache que deve dar Giamatti. Com tantos "pesos pesados", acho que mesmo como coadjuvante Gyllenhaal não emplaca...acredito (e seria justíssimo), se a estatueta de coadjuvante, assim como este ano, fosse para um vetenano, como Giamatti (Cinderella Man), Plummer (The New World), Sutherland (Ask The Dust), Hoskins (Sra. Henderson). Se por um lado estão dizendo que faltam concorrentes de peso para atriz coadjuvante, os atores secundários vão "brigar feio" por uma vaga...sem contar que ainda temos nomes mais jovens e porém de grande talento como Sarsgaard (Jarhead) e Bale (The New World). Falando as atrizes coadjuvantes eu continuo apostando que promoverão Whiterspoon (Walk The Line) e Streep (Prime) como coadjuvantes, justamente pelo menor número de concorrentes de peso, pelo menos por enquanto, o que facilitaria a vitória de uma das duas. Afinal, melhor ganhar como coadjuvante, do que concorrer como principal e não ganhar. Acredito ainda que Whiterspoon e Streep já se enfrentem, como favoritas, no Globo de Ouro de Atriz Comédia/Musical, mas no Oscar acabem promovidas como coadjuvantes. Bem pipoca mesmo...mas divertidinho...falaram em possível Framboesa para Nicole. Pode até ser!!! Mas na minha opinião só de vê-la mexendo o narizinho...uhhhh....já merecia um Globo de Ouro de Comédia...que tesão de mulher. Clássica, esguia, alva...perfeita...com quase 40 já! A few of the characters pop up, as minor figures, in later stories. But each story has to start from scratch. Yet, one after another, the tales instantly grip you, and maintain their intensity. Like a great racing car, "Nine Lives" can go from zero to 90 in no time at all. The short story form is one of the toughest to pull off on film, and Garcia makes it look easy. How does he do it? For starters, he has at his command some of the best (though not always the best-known) actresses working. Robin Penn Wright as a pregnant wife who runs into an old flame (Jason Isaacs) in a market, an encounter that upends her stable life. The astonishing Lisa Gay Hamilton as a distraught woman coming home to face the stepfather who committed some terrible act against her. Sissy Spacek as a mother and wife contemplating an infidelity with Aidan Quinn in a motel room. Elpida Carrillo as a prisoner trying to see her visiting daughter. Holly Hunter out with her boyfriend (Stephen Dillane) for an evening with friends that turns into an unexpected psychodrama. Amy Brennerman confronting and seducing her deaf ex-lover at his wife’s funeral. Amanda Seyfried as a homebound daughter stuck playing mediator between her sickly father (Ian MacShane) and frustrated mother (Spacek). Kathy Baker angrily, fearfully facing an operation with her husband (Joe Mantegna) at her abusive side. Glenn Close and Dakota Fanning enacting a deceptive mother-daughter ritual at a cemetery. Garcia instinctively grasps what the photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson called "the decisive moment." His 10-minute snapshots seem to locate the heart of every scene. I'm not sure how Garcia makes these vignettes so urgent, and so satisfying, in such little time. He seems to have an almost clairvoyant grasp of character, and the ability to reveal a complete personality in cinematic shorthand. The son of Gabriel Garcia Marquez (is his storytelling sense genetically implanted?), Garcia is drawn to "miniatures" and to stories of women: his first film had a similar form, the lovely "Things You Can Tell Just By Looking at Her," which also featured Hunter, Close and Baker. Se o filme tiver a mesma sensibilidade vista no filme anterior de Rodrigo Garcia, Coisas Que Voce Pode Dizer Só De Olhar Para Ela, deve ser bom mesmo! Alguns do elenco estão nos dois filmes e Garcia parece ter jeito para dirigir filmes que retratam emoções a flor-da-pele de mulheres com os mais diversos tipos de crise. O que saiu no OscarWatch: "A Terrific Movie" Says R. Corliss on The Squid and the Whale Add another name to the Best Actor list - Jeff Daniels for The Squid and the Whale is getting the best reviews of his career. Here is Corliss on the film: Anyway, a terrific movie. That's what Noah Baumbach, son of writers and film critics Jonathan Baumbach and Georgia Brown, has made from the memories of his parents' split when he was a teenager in 1986. The Squid and the Whale is domestic tragedy recollected as comedy: a film whose catalog of deceits and embarrassments, and of love pratfalling over itself, makes it as (excruciatingly) painful as it is (exhilaratingly) funny. Its family quartet--including Laura Linney as wife Joan, Jesse Eisenberg as 16-year-old Walt and Owen Kline as his 12-year-old brother Frank--is a fearless, faultless acting ensemble. And on Daniels: Heading the clan is Jeff Daniels, who gives a reading so naked and true, so dense and pitiless, that it may shock viewers used to the actor's teddy-bear persona. Eu não acho que o filme tenha muitas chances no Oscar, mas os atores eu acho que sim. Se categoria lotar provavelmente não entrarão, mas acho que têm chances no Globo de Ouro.
