É verdade Yoh, ela é boa demais para o Oscar e bem lembrado por você MIchael Sheen está excelente em A Rainha, que pra mim é ainda melhor do que foi dito, além da Mirren, que não tem adjetivos existentes no mundo para dizer sobre sua atuação.  Sobre O Casamento de Rachel, também acho que o Bill Irwin merecia a indicação, a cena em que ele vê o prato é incrível.  Melhor que Brolin, Shannon, Downey Jr.  Enfim, coisas do Oscar.  Ah, e O Amor não tira férias só tem razão de ser por causa da Kate.

Scorsese to direct Sinatra biopic

Director to helm feature on iconic entertainer

Martin Scorsese  is bringing Ol' Blue Eyes to the bigscreen. 

 

Universal Pictures has acquired “Sinatra” from Mandalay Pictures and brought on Scorsese — who has long flirted with a biopic on legendary singer and actor Frank Sinatra — to direct and produce.

Universal and Mandalay’s Peter Guber and Cathy Schulman have been quietly developing the project for two years while they worked feverishly to secure the life and music rights from Frank Sinatra Enterprises — a joint venture of the Sinatra Estate and Warner Music Group.

The process of acquiring the late entertainer’s life and particularly music rights was “very complicated, as you can imagine,” Schulman said, because of the multiple parties involved. “He was such a beloved man,” she added. “The responsibility we are taking on to tell his story — that would cause anyone to be very careful about who they grant these rights to. Everyone knows that Marty Scorsese is a final-cut director. So there had to be a lot of trust that he would tell this story in a way that didn’t destroy (Sinatra’s) memory.”

Project marks the first bigscreen pic to be made about the iconic Hoboken, N.J., native, whose life provided endless fodder for the gossip columnists because of his tumultuous love affairs, infamous friendships with the likes of President Kennedy and possible Mafia ties. Schulman described the story as an unconventional biopic that will touch on all phases of Sinatra’s life.

“My father had great admiration for the talent of the people he chose to work with, and the talented people who worked with my father had great admiration for him,” said Tina Sinatra. “It is personally pleasing to me that this paradigm continues with Marty Scorsese at the helm of the Sinatra film.”

Although no actor is attached to star in the film, Schulman said Leonardo DiCaprio is an obvious candidate because he has become Scorsese’s go-to actor over the past decade, having starred in the director’s past four narrative features: “Gangs of New York,” “The Aviator,” “The Departed” and the upcoming “Shutter Island.” Because any music in the film will come from Sinatra’s recordings, it will not be necessary to cast an actor who is a proficient singer.

Phil Alden Robinson (“Field of Dreams”) is writing the screenplay.

“We have dreamt of making a movie about Frank Sinatra, and Marty Scorsese is undeniably the perfect vision keeper for this project,” said Guber, whose Mandalay shingle has a first-look deal at U.

Gary LeMel, the former president of worldwide music distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures, is exec producing alongside Tina Sinatra and Robinson.

Scorsese and Robinson are repped by Endeavor.

animated 3-D film that opened the 62nd Cannes Film Festival last night,

is as effervescent as its name suggests, but there's little indication

that either the prevailing mood or the cinematic subject matter of the

next 10 days will match

Up's buoyancy.

 

This is the first time an animated film has opened the festival, and

the first time the black-tied and cocktail-gowned audience had to don

oversized goggles (a number of those in the Grand Théâtre Lumière's red

velvet seats must have wished that Chanel made 3-D glasses). The

Disney-Pixar film, about a crotchety old man who lifts his house aloft

on a cloud of balloons and inadvertently hauls a boy along, opened to

near-universal acclaim – and, it must be said, audible sniffing and

surreptitious eye-rubbing during a press screening earlier in the day.

 

The formula that has served Disney-Pixar so well in the past, blending

sentiment, wisecracking animals and visual innovation, reaches a

pastel-coloured zenith in

Up, although the tradition of using an absent parental figure to wring tears is becoming a bit of a fetish.

 

“For every laugh, there should be a tear,” said Pixar's John Lasseter,

quoting that arch-showman, and the guy who arranged the hit on Bambi's

mother, Walt Disney. Many of those tears are courtesy of Ed Asner, as

the voice of the widower Carl, who discovers that he doesn't need to

travel the world to find adventure. It wouldn't be a Disney film

without a moral, or indeed without an arch-villain, and here he's given

wonderful, sinister voice by Christopher Plummer, described by director

vengeance, and if it has a colour, it's not money-green but blood-red,

in keeping with the global mood of anxiety. Even

Up can be

viewed through the lens of the current turmoil, with its suggestion

that material possessions burden us (I'm not sure this message comforts

those who have watched their houses sail away, metaphorically at least)...

Legal o trailer de Nine. Não sou fã de musicais mas esse eu quero ver, mais pelo elenco mesmo. Que o marshall não foda com tudo.

 

Aquela cena dos guris na praia atrás da personagem da Fergie ficou bem fiel a do 8 1/2. Nem gosto dela mas parece que se encaixou no papel.

Eu li que o melhor em Tetro é a fotografia que dizem ser belíssima. Os aplausos em Cannes na verdade foram mais para revereciar a figura do Coppola e nem tanto pelo filme apresentado...

O começo é tão genérico que achei que estava vendendo o filme como se fosse um desses suspenses acéfalos que a gente vê (ou melhor, não vê) por aí. Mas depois consegue exprimir toda a tensão do livro. Ao que parece vai ser uma experiência deliciosamente angustiante.

Me refiro a voz falada com timbre MASCULINO... O trailer anuncia o ator/personagem e ouvimos a voz durante a cena que ele aparece deitado com Dench ao fundo, em pé falando... Obviamente que não me referia a cantada... Agora se aquela voz, for como vc diz, de Fergie, ela é um gênio vocal... .

 

Construção vocal rouca absurda. Algo que aparentemente, parece no nível que Hoffman fez em Capote.

 

PS: Kate Hudson sem dúvidas parece a mais deslumbrante ali... impressionante!

Fora a conversa entre as duas irmãs em que ele tenta, mas não consegue segurar as lágrimas. Arrebatador.

Eu pensava q era da Sophia Loren mas depois foi confirmado: a voz que canta no trailer de Nine é da Fergie mesmo pessoal.

Claro q de imediato tanto Dench quanto Day-Lewis(mesmo sem falar) deixaram uma boa impressão, mas acredito q muitas cenas das atrizes tenha sido guardado(q bom!).

 

Já pensaram q a Fergie pode acabar abocanhando uma vaga na categoria de coadjuvante tb?

Qualquer pessoa que já escutou alguma música da Fergie, solo ou no Black Eyed Peas, sabe que ela tem uma voz média, que trabalhada daria um caldo - Madonna e sua voz discutível conseguiu milagres em "Evita". Não entendi, ainda, essa empolgação com a Fergie, não vi nada além de careta no trailer, a música, muito bem arranjada e produzida, ficou ótima com sua voz competente, e só. Pelo trailer irei gostar muito da Marion, gosto da personagem em "8 e 1/2"; a Cruz achei estranha com as mechas, mas gostei do cenário em que aparece. A Kidman está linda em suas cenas, e deverá cantar bem "Unusual Way". Já Dench é ótima em qualquer coisa, não me surprendo, e Day-Lewis idem. Mas confesso, o trailer é uma delícia, muito bem feito.
